What is the best resort to stay at when travelling with small children?(they will be 3 and 11months) We would like the BWV's but I am not sure how noisy it may be. The BCV's look very nice and of course the pool at the hotel can't be beat. VFW is close to MK but is the travel part a pain or has it gone smoothlyfor people? What about OKW? Thanks in advance for any insight...Tough decision!

I can only speak for BWV and VWL. On our first BWV trip the kids wre 3,6 and 9. We had a standard view toward the end of the hall and noise was never a problem. This year they are one year older, and the quiet at VWL was awesome! We didn't have issues with transportation as we realize some delays are normal--we didn't have any delays out of the ordinary. The launch is faster than the big boat going to MK, and some days it is better to just get the bus to TTC and take the monorail.
I know BCV has the awesome pool--we "pool hopped" there before it was disallowed. But my kids were happy with the BWV pool (4 year old went down the slide over and over again) and the VWL pool, although the slide there is pretty pathetic compared to BWV and BCV.

Which park do you think you will spend more time at MK or Epcot/MGM ? If it's MK then VWL will be very convenient if it's the Epcot/MGM area then either BWV or BCV will be perfect. OKW would be great for the extra room but OKW is a lot easier to stay at if you will have a car especially if you are going to have strollers, since transportation to everywhere but DTD is by bus. I would try for BCV if you decide that area because it is brand new, and you will have the use of SB which is a beautiful pool.
As for noise at BWV, I have stayed all over the BWVs from boardwalk view to front entrance view and have never had a problem with noise. Once you close that balcony door you don't hear anything.

I like BWV or since BCV is open now the best for the following reason. We spend a lot of time at Epcot and MGM. And sometimes we go through Epcot to get to the MK to take a long monorail ride. Since these parks are walkable to the resort 9or a boat ride) it is very easy when the kids get tired and fall asleep in the stroller to go back to the room. Whereas when we are at old key west we have to wake them to get on the bus or into the car.

I agree with the above post stating if you're going to spend most of your time at MK, then VWL is the place to be. I have one child still in a stroller and really liked the boat trip to MK because I didn't have to fold up the stroller and DS often would fall asleep on the boat and I could just stroll all the way to the room without ever having to wake him up. The quiet pool was never crowded when we were there (June 02) and I liked that too! DH would take older children to the main pool and I'd keep the little one at the quiet pool. I haven't tried any other resorts yet, so I can't compare, but we were quite happy at VWL.

Ditto to what Gracerlm said - if you've got wee ones who love MK, VWL is the place to stay. We've never stayed at any other of the DVCs, but stayed at WL last year with our then 22 mo. DD. We'd go to MK in the a.m., go back to WL for a swim, lunch and nap, and then head out again in the evening. I agree that BCV and BWV are really in the middle of the action, but real little ones, I think, most enjoy the MK. Only 10 more mos. until we're there with DD (she'll be turning 4 when we're there) and DS (who will be 17 mos.).

hygienejean - First, welcome to the DIS!

You don't say if you are planning for a single trip or a purchase. If it's a purchase, remember your children will be big soon. Also, DVC is a 40-year investment.

We own at VWL (and very similar to you, on our next trip our kids will be age 3 and 10 months). We love VWL because of the resort. The fact that it is so close to MK is an added benefit. Also, we had no problem with the VWL transportation (except for going to Downtown Disney).

I am renting this time but I hope to buy at some point in the near future. I see that there are so many benfits...can't miss! Should I do it through Disney or a broker when the time comes? Thanks to everyone who has posted!!!
