We are expecting our first baby in a few months!! Disney nuts that we are, we are already planning her first trip to WDW :) We are thinking of taking her at age one and a half or two.

Which resort would you suggest for our first trip with a baby? We have been to WDW many times (even got married there!) but never with a baby and we are anticipating it to be a very different kind of trip and we want to make it as easy and doable as possible.

We will likely only be doing MK and Epcot for this trip and taking lots of breaks at the resort throughout the day. We will likely be utilizing character meals to meet the characters, rather than waiting in line a the parks.

Please look at my poll choices and let me know which you would choose and why:

Thanks!!!

I chose BC....love the sand pool there for the baby and walking into Epcot is so nice....nice character breakfast there too.

Out of your choices, we have stayed at Caribbean Beach, BC, & Poly. I voted for the Poly for the large rooms, the monorail to MK, the ability to walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail, and the beach for watching the fireworks. Also, the grounds are beautiful and it's relaxing to walk around the resort, especially at night under the lit tiki torches. Good luck deciding, although I'm sure you'll have a great trip no matter which resort you choose.

I would stay at BC or YC. You can walk to Epcot and walk thru Epcot to the monorail. No need to use the buses and wait in long lines. A monorail resort would be great too.

We are going to BWV in November with our son who will be 9 months and we are excited but nervous at the same time since it's his first time to Disney! We decided on BWV because you can take the boat to EPCOT and HWS or just walk to them with the stroller. Also, The Boardwalk is such a nice place to go for a walk around to the different resorts including BC and YC, just a short walk to Cape May Cafe or Yachtsman Steakhouse....two of our favorite places! POLY is also a great choice being on the monorail!

If I was taking a baby and only doing MK and Epcot. And if i could afford it. It would be the Contemporary. You would only have to ride the Monorail

We took our boys for their first trip at 18 months and their 6th trip will be in September. They are 2.5. I voted for the contemporary. The main reason is that it is the only resort with a walkway to MK and of course monorail service to MK and Epcot. Being able to walk back and forth to the MK is golden IMO and quicker than taking the monorail to any monorail resort.

Where I wouldn't stay would be any of the boardwalk area resorts. Our experiences with the bus service to the MK from these resorts has been terrible with often sharing the BW, swalphin, and BC/YC during peak times. A nightmare with a stroller. We will not stay here again until our twins are out of strollers.

The resort my boys enjoyed the most was cbr. We stayed in a pirate room and they loved it. Also, the pool area for little ones is wonderful and they had a blast here. But it is nowhere near as convenient as a monorail resort.

I chose the Poly because we love the monorail with a stroller. Plus I have a feeling you'll be spending a good amount of time at MK. I would have also voted GF if it was on your list. We stayed there when my son was 6 months old and it was heavenly for traveling with a baby. YC/BC would also be great, only down side is a bit farther from MK. But you can push the stroller right into Epcot which is so nice too. I think any of those resorts I just mentioned are great picks! :thumbsup2 I would shy away from a moderate or value resort just because folding and unfolding the stroller and lugging it onto a bus every single time you go anywhere gets old. I've been there.

Polynesian!

While you can walk to the MK at the Contemporary... I love the ease of access to the TTC at the Poly. Its ideal for Epcot and a "one stop" option to the MK.

For character dinning... being on the monorail is also an added bonus! You'll have Chef Mickey's, O'Hana's, and 1900 Park Fare at your finger tips... as well as the Crystal Palace, and Cinderella's royal table in the MK.

Don't rule out DHS either! It would certainly be worth a 1/2 day for the Disney Junior character breakfast and stage show!

I know it wasn't on your poll list but have you considered Fort Wilderness?

We stayed there for my DS first trip at 18 months and he LOVED it! The boat ride to MK was great, as was just checking out the grounds. We were there in late September and the buses were not bad either.

It was a super easy, laid back trip. We enjoy not having the hustle and bustle of the resorts from time to time.

I chose AoA because I'm sure it will be something a baby could grasp especially for its color, shapes and just what culminates the resort together. Also, it's new so I'm sure there would be a lot for you as an experienced adult to see.

I picked the Polynesian because that's where we stayed under the same circumstances and it was great. It was easy to use the monorail or launches to get to MK and the Epcot monorail was just a short walk. DS ended up loving the monorail and actually still does to this day.

DS also loved the beach. There was something really fascinating to him about sand. I just had to make sure that he didn't eat it. ;)

In the same situation, we stayed at the Poly. Being on the monorail line was the best descision we made on that trip-especially if you are taking breaks during the day. The zero entry (is that what it's called?) pool was great. Bascially you can wade right in, no stairs or ladders. He loved playing there and in the sand, right across from the pool, and running around the paths between longhouses. A place you can let them run without the crowds. Also, we had a room facing the castle so we could just sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks, Electric Boat Parade. That worked great and we didn't have to fight the crowds.

I picked Beach Club! We have 2 little ones and Boardwalk is our DVC home. It is so easy to get to Epcot and DHS either by walking or on the boat so no need to fold up the stroller. Also the area is lovely, you can do plenty just on the little loop there. The character breakfast at Beach Club is fabulous, food is great and the character interactions are fabulous!! It's also not one of the super popular character breakfasts so you should easily get a reservation!

And just FYI, we took my DS1 when he was 18 months for the first time, it was wonderful! Then we went back when he was 3 and DS2 was 11 weeks. Oh and then again when DS1 was almost 4 and DS2 was not quite 1. :) We are going back in Nov with our 4 YO and not quite 2 YO. People can say what they want about taking kids so young to Disney but it really is a magical experience!!! I hope you enjoy every minute of it and congrats!!!

I chose AoA. They have the suites there, so you would have kitchen appliances and more space than a standard hotel room.

From the photos I've seen of AoA, it just looks like it has a very kid-friendly theme to it.

If not AoA, then maybe Beach Club in one of the villas, where you would also have kitchen appliances and more room. You would also have easy access to Epcot, and you could take the monorail from Epcot to MK.

I picked Poly. With a stroller age little one, and you mentioned MK & EP centered trip being able to monorail to MK or walk across to the TTC for the EP direct monorail will be you best travel options.

I chose Poly, it has the best transp. options IMO. Boat or monorail to and from MK, and a short walk to TTC for Epcot monorail. Zero entry pool, beach, and balcony giving you more living space, and a place to go sit while baby is napping/sleeping.
I would wait till your baby is at least 2, to get more out of it.
