I am a DVC member and I looked up online on member website to see what's available. I only checked for a studio at SSR and AKV. What dates are you looking at...I have a point chart and can tell you how many points each place would take. Then you can go through David's to rent.

We are planning 5 nights..June 22-27. I'm not sure yet if my dh is interested in renting since there are no cancellations allowed, but the Epcot area would be my first choice although SSR being close to DTD is also nice. Thanks for your help!

We are headed down in 34 (yes, thats right...Just 34 days!!!) and going kid free as well. We chose POP just on price point. It was cheaper for us to stay there and do a few extras that we want to do, like Cirque Du Soleil, a day at the beach, the fireworks party, and such. We even managed to get a BOG reservation! Sorry...I'm just a smidge excited.

But anyway, we stayed at CBR once with the kids. It was nice, but I did not care for the bus system. We were one of the furthest away from the main house. If we hadn't had our car there to drive to the pool and food court, it would have been a good walk, or a good ride on the bus to stop at almost all the stops before the main house.

Did you say "drive to the pool and food court"?! That doesn't sound like something I want to do!

There's absolutely no need to drive to OPR and the main pool. The farthest village has only the Pirate Themed rooms so you would have to book that category to be there. And even if you are, it's a 7-9 minute walk. There are over 750 non-preferred rooms that are under 5 minutes to get to OPR and the main pool.

There's also an internal shuttle, but we've never used it. Never felt the need to.

Okay thanks.. we don't have any trouble walking obviously since I have been known to take two week trips and not slow down much! :)

I voted POR for the boat to DD - more options for things to do at night. Yeehaw Bobs. Nice landscaped, relaxing resort.

But, if I was going no kids, I would try and rent DVC points, staying at BWV or BCW. We love Epcot and would love to end our days walking over for drinks and dinner around WS. Ultimately, I would love to do a split stay and try out two resorts. BW area and maybe AKL. Or BLT to be on Monorail to resort hop. Without kids it would probably be the best time for trying a split stay.

(OK, responding to your post is pumping me up to do Disney instead of an AI for anniversary. LOL)

Honestly, anywhere without kids for a few days is heavenly, so wherever you end up it will be awesome. :cloud9:

Stayed at POR on "adults only" trip. Alligator Bayou is rustic and quiet. Took boat to DTD at night.

Have you checked the Swan/Dolphin rates?

I picked CBR because I like it best of your options, but I would probably stay offsite.

And be aware IMHO CSR while loved in here has the worst service on property. And I gave them 3 shots. LOL

OOOHHH...can't believe I didn't think about this as I'm always checking rates at S&D...they take AAA discount. They are right there with BCV and BWV (who, by the way, are ALL booked up for the time OP is trying to go...might be a single night open, but that's it...for DVC only OKW and SSR is open the entire time OP is looking). OP should def look at S&D...I'm going to go check it out now...curious.

AAA rate at the Swan for 6/22-6/27 is $169/night plus taxes and fees for a total of $1035.63 for the stay. No availability at the Dolphin.

Another vote for Swan/Dolphin. Deluxe resorts at moderate prices, especially with one of their many available discounts. You can't beat the location of the Epcot resorts. Lots of great dining and bar options for an adults only trip.

Yes, I did. We did stay in a Pirate Room, so we were in an "island" that was further out, but they also had regular rooms there too. If we had used the internal shuttle, our stop was the second from the main house, but we would have to stopped at all but one of the other stops to get there. I didn't like being so far out.

I do love more of a Caribbean theme, but CBR doesn't seem to have many votes so I'm not so sure about that one. Does anyone LOVE CBR?

I love CBR! It is like being on a tropical island. Great pool and lots of quiet pools, good food court, white sand beach....love me some CBR!

I voted for POR because it has more of a romantic feel, but we also love Pop and have even stayed there during a anniversary adult only trip. We just love the nostalgia. So I would say it just really depends on your tastes and what you want from the trip. If you want to enjoy peace and quiet without kids, Pop may not be for you. Even though we stayed at Pop, I booked us a carriage ride at POR and it was very romantic. Not too bad on the wallet either.

I voted POR only because when I was thinking about staying at CSR I did a lot of research on that resort and found out that they have those motion sensors on the air conditioners and once nobody is moving around the room (like when you are sleeping) the a/c cuts off ALL NIGHT LONG.

Some ppl have said that every 2 days you can call maintenance and have them come to your room and do some kind of bypass on your a/c to make it stay on without motion but who wants to mess with that crap every 2 days.
