I can only speak about POR - I haven't yet stayed at CSR but it is definitely on my list - I have eaten lunch there and explored. I liked POR - but being from Houston it did really feel like home - with the "Southern" feel - and there were lots of families - but it was quiet. I thought CSR felt more adult - the food court had actual dishes and silverware and it is a convention center resort so it had more business like vibe which I enjoyed - the quiet pools looked very relaxing. Both resorts are rather large and have internal bus stops.

Either choice would be great of course - have a great trip whatever you decide!:)

For those recommending POP..there is only a $285 difference in POP vs. the mods with discount and all figured in so it would be almost difficult not to choose a mod... but then again I've never stayed at any of them so I really don't know I guess! :)

Can't go wrong with POR or CSR (which lead in the poll)...maybe flip a coin. When we stayed at POR, we ate at Boatwright's and it was very very good...we have since wanted to go back, but never can find the time to make a trip over to POR for a meal.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if POR reminded me of home? The dining areas even remind me of Cracker Barrel! LOL Of course I do love Cracker Barrel and eat there almost weekly! I am going to drive myself crazy..maybe this is why I have never stayed onsite yet..I could never make a decision on where to stay! lol

DH and myself stayed at CBR for our honeymoon in 2006 and have been back 3x since then. Love the caribbean feel, music, lush landscaping, beaches with hammocks to relax on. The main pool area is awesome with water slides & hot tubs & each village also has its own private pool area. We found this resort very relaxing & romantic, I don't think it's a hotel made just for kids.

I think you are leaning toward CSR and I think you'd really like it. Different from home and they have beautiful grounds and some pretty good food options. I would select that one if I were you....

I thought I'd share with you what my DH and I are going to do next month, as we are also going on our first "no kids" trip to WDW. Now, mind you we've NEVER stayed on property. However, after much research, comparing and indecision, I decided to do a split stay. We are staying at CSR the first two nights and then Contemporary the last two nights. I chose CSR because of the theming (subtle, sophisticated Disney), pool, and the various reviews/opinions I read. I also wanted to be closer to the parks we are going to the first two days - DHS and AK. Disney takes care of moving your luggage to the new resort, so you don't have to worry about that. It *seems* like it will be a seamless transition.

So maybe a split stay is something for you to consider...:goodvibes

I have stayed at POFQ not POR . CSr has the best bus service of any resort we have stayed at. We loved the location of POFQ which is why I choose POR over CSR. I would look into WL or AKL like a PP said cost could be close.

Not on your poll -

but I would rent points and stay at AKV!

Beware - renting points and going without kids may cause you BUY DVC :rotfl2:

Would it not be too late now to get something for the end of June?
Looking at David's prices, yes, renting points would definitely not be much different than a mod with a king bed.

Hold on...BRB...I'll go check...Kadani from 6/15-20...studio...standard view for 82 points and 6/14-20 in savannah view for 120 points. SSR seems to be wide open from 6/16-30.

We are headed down in 34 (yes, thats right...Just 34 days!!!) and going kid free as well. We chose POP just on price point. It was cheaper for us to stay there and do a few extras that we want to do, like Cirque Du Soleil, a day at the beach, the fireworks party, and such. We even managed to get a BOG reservation! Sorry...I'm just a smidge excited.

But anyway, we stayed at CBR once with the kids. It was nice, but I did not care for the bus system. We were one of the furthest away from the main house. If we hadn't had our car there to drive to the pool and food court, it would have been a good walk, or a good ride on the bus to stop at almost all the stops before the main house.

Are you flying the JetBlue special ? Must be. that was a great deal for people with kids, we don't have any so couldn't take advantage unfortunately.

I second the rent points motion! My family and I have done it 3 times- fourth time in 3 weeks at SSR. I cant recommend it enough. You get a deluxe hotel experience at a mod price. If you can get a ressie def try Boardwalk or Beach club area. Lots of grown up stuff to do and walking distance to Epcot. Cant beat it!!! Second choice would be OKW or SSR- very close to DTD (SSR is walking distance) another excellent option. pixiedust:

We stayed at POR on our honeymoon and LOVED it!! Going back this June - 21 years later!!!

I like the idea of a split stay as the pp said. If you cant decide try a couple resorts! I think I will do that on our next grown-up trip!

The earliest we could check in would be June 22. I should run these options by the dh and see what he thinks, but he always just wants me to plan everything!! ;)

SSR wouldn't be a bad choice...can walk over to Downtown Disney to eat or drink or shop. For a studio the end of June it's 16 points/night (sun-thur) and 20 points/night (fri and sat). And it has availability from 6/22-30.

Who is this going through, David's?

I am a DVC member and I looked up online on member website to see what's available. I only checked for a studio at SSR and AKV. What dates are you looking at...I have a point chart and can tell you how many points each place would take. Then you can go through David's to rent.
