Which do you think is the best resort for a couple?

We are looking for busy, but not too much noise from our room, pretty but not stuck up, convenient, etc...

I know the GF is supposed to be very romantic, but I remember it being a bit stuck up last time I was there (although that was over 10 years ago!)

WL maybe? but it seems so far away.

We were thinking maybe the BWI, but we don't want to run into any loud or obnoxious drunken scenes from the bars. Never been to the BW, but I remember how "not our scene" Pleasure Island was when I visited there and the atmosphere "seems" similar but I could be wrong.

Thanks!

My bf and I love the Polynesian-- it's super convenient and romantic. You can sit on the beach and watch Wishes. We also like walking along the beach and lounging in a hammock-- it's very quiet and peaceful.

My DH & I love the BW! We have stayed there several times and never really encountered any loud or drunken scenes because of the bars on the boardwalk. FWIW, Pleasure Island does absolutely nothing for me but I find the Boardwalk entertainment thoroghly enjoyable.

WL is nice - it is a bit out of the way but not terribly. They have walking paths, a little beach area where you can watch the Electrical Pageant Parade. I haven't been yet but Artists Point is supposed to be delish and Territory Lounge is nice for a quiet drink.

We like BC or YC if it is the two of us. We can easily walk to Epcot for a nice dinner or a drink. We love the WL but we go there with the whole family. To me, BW is just too noisey.

Any of the hotels in the Epcot resort area are great for couples - within walking distance to Epcot and MGM. Also got the Boardwalk with Jellyrolls and ESPN for a night out.

Enjoy!!! :goodvibes

We totally enjoyed BW when we stayed there. The little balcony in our room had a view of the Eiffle tower!
:thumbsup2
As mentioned before it is near the ESPN club (big plus for us sports fans) and a short walk to EPCOT. Of all the places we have stayed so far BW has been my favorite.

We also enjoyed AKL when we stayed there. We had a savannah (sp) room & really enjoyed seeing the animals.

Last trip was POR and I would not recommned that - we only did the pool one night for about 5 minutes. Too many wound up kids & too few adult supervising.
Plus it is huge - we had a good 5 to 10 minute walk anywhere.

We loved CSR. I also think AKL is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been in. The Poly is also pretty.

You pretty much described BW in your post. I haven't stayed at Y/BC so can't say on that - but BW is decidedly busy without being noisy (as long as you don't get a boardwalk or pool view - but even those are amazingly quiet!), relaxing, and VERY convinient. A few minutes to World Showcase and fifteen to MGM (by foot - or the longer but leisurly boatride). Absolutely wonderful. Though personally my vote for most romantic is POR Riverside - I know I'm one of the few but, hey, I like it. Still, it's hard to beat the convinience of BW!

DH and I love the Dolphin. Epcot is our favorite park so being walking distance is a huge plus. We both love the fantasy beach theming, the views over the water, and the choice of restaurants. And a boat trip to/from Epcot or MGM is very romantic at sunset.

When we're in our room, we've never heard any noise whatsoever. There must be great sound insulation between the rooms because we've never heard a peep from other guestrooms or the hallway.

All WDW resorts are pretty even the values.

to me both GF and YC are in the stuck up cataloge (my opinion)

WL is beautiful

here is my list based on quiet
OKW
AKV/AKL
VWL/WL
Polyn
BCV/BC

on atmosphere
VWL/WL
BCV/BC
Polyn
AKV/AKL
BW/BWV

WL is not too far. you can ride a boat or take a bus to the MK.

the problem is the same for all the deluxe resorts - they share buses. so the park they are near they will have the best transportation - either monrail, boat or even walking - but the other parks will generally share a bus.

look at it as an opportunity to see the other resorts up close.

moderates only share with themselves - they still share - but with only inside the resort.

Pop and AKL are the only ones that don't share with anyone. (expecting AKL to share with AKV once it is build). they both go directly to the parks.
