We're planning our daughter's first trip (she'll be 3), and we have an older son. Which do you think would be better...theme-park view at the Poly or 1 BR suite at Beach Club Villas? Price is comparable. We are looking at the summer, so the pool is definitely a factor, but we really wouldn't use the full kitchen at BCV. It would be nice to have the separate room, but it would also be cool to be so close to MK, especially for this trip. We're planning MK for 2 days, and the other parks for 1 each.

I think this would be a toss-up. I can't give you a personal opinion since I haven't stayed at either, but Poly is excellent for proximity to the parks, but I have heard Amazing things about the Beach Club pool, and being summer if Pool is a huge priority I would lean toward that, but any deluxe hotel is going to have a nice pool. There are benefits to both of them. Also, you may still find that you use the kitchen for making a basic breakfast in the morning or later on in the day if you don't eat all meals in the park.

My vote would be Poly for similar reasons as the PPs. While certainly not comparable to a 1BR Villa, Poly rooms are a nice size (amongst the largest standard rooms on property) and are perfect for our family of four.

We've stayed at both Poly and BC with our now 4.5 year old and he truly loved each resort. They both have pools that are fun for that age, though the ability for mom and dad to sit back and relax while the little is in the splash pad gives Poly a slight edge for us (DH had no time to relax at the BC pool because our DS wanted to ride the slide over and over and over...). The proximity to MK is great at Poly, as is the proximity to Epcot and HS for BC. So honestly, it is a toss up if you're doing 2 days MK and 2 days combined of EP and HS.

However, for a first trip...I think I'd pick Poly. Have a great vacation!

We love everything about the BCV. The Full size fridge and ability to fix a quick breakfast in the room are great - even if you don't do any other cooking. There is a sand play area for little ones at SAB that would be perfect for your family. Being within walking distance of 2 parks is a great advantage, especially with a stroller
But you certainly sound like you would rather do the Poly and that would be a good choice too.
Good Luck

For a first trip, I recommend the Poly. It is so magical to see the castle from the resort and ride the monorail. Plus, with Poly, you will get 2 queen beds and a comfortable day bed. With the 1-bedroom, the kids will be sleeping on a pull-out the whole time which isn't very comfortable. You really can't go wrong with either, but Poly gets my vote in this circumstance.

Thanks everyone! I'm still completely torn. It's a good point about BC being so close to the studios too. Plus I really love their pool, and it would be nice to spread out a little. On the other hand, the magic of the castle and the monorail would make her first trip extra special, and it would make naps easier (from MK). It looks like both are equally good options, so maybe we'll just see where we can get the best deal and let fate decide. Thanks for all your help!

I'm just going to throw this out there.

We stayed at SSR in January. We have 4 daughters, 8, (then) 5, 4 & 1. They all loved it. They loved going to DS on our early nights or day off (especially the Lego Store).

My point is that it doesn't matter where. Your DD will have a magical trip wherever they stay. You pick whatever you think will be best for your family. Your DD is going to just about explode with excitement either way!

Thank you! You are absolutely right!
