DW and I haven't spent much time in Hollywood Studios, let alone eat there. Reading so many bad and mixed reviews we are up in the air on where to eat during our day trip Sat. So what is your vote for best QS in the park?

Either the Backlot Express (by Indiana Jones) or Studio Catering Co. (by the Backlot Tour). We love the chicken ceasar wrap at the Studio Catering Co. :thumbsup2

I find Backlot express better than Studio to be honest. Although I have to say, none of the QS in HS are worth going to. You might want to consider grabbing a sandwich from starring rolls, theyre huge!! While your there you can grab a yummy cupcake or treat for dessert. If anything, you can easily grab a boat to boardwalk and eat at either Hurricane Hanna's (QS) or Beaches & Cream (TS).

If you're on a Dining Plan, unless you specifically want hot food I'd say Starring Rolls is tasty and a good value. Big sandwich plus a side (fresh fruit or LARGE bag of chips) plus a drink plus your choice of any of those lovely, lovely desserts (red velvet cupcake.......butterfinger cupcake......mmmmm) all for a single CS credit.

The Italian Meatball Sub at Toy Story Pizza Planet was pretty good, especially if you are tired of hamburgers.

To those saying Starring Rolls, where exactly are the sandwiches in that location? I went there last year specifically to get a sandwhich for lunch and didn't see any, anywhere. Do they only start offering them after a certain time of day?

I have to agree with gooyintoronto based on my experience. We've had a tough time finding good QS at HS, which is a shame because it is tied for our favorite park.

We quite enjoy the ABC Commissary on the QS plan though we do like the atmosphere in Backlot Express. I'm sure i've seen the menu options in the commissary improved this year over last.

Never looked at Staring Rolls , will have a look at the menu on next trip.

When you walk into Starring Rolls they have pastries out on the left on trays and there is a case up to your right with all the cupcakes. You have to walk over to your right in front of the exit door to find the sandwiches. They are huge and yummy! If you don't see them ask. Lots of people miss them because they are tucked away in the corner!

Another for ABC Commissary - I really enjoyed their chicken curry. It's the one memorable QS dining experience from our last trip there actually.

Thanks Celestia. So kind of by where the cashiers are? (if I'm remembering correctly)

Wil have to look at the ABC Commissary menu as well.

Dan

there is a case right between the cashiers, but I can't remember what exactly is in that case. If you are facing that case and the cashiers the sandwich case is to your left and slightly behind you.

another way to think of it is if you walk in the Starring Rolls door to the right as you are walking up to Starring Rolls (this door is usually shut and it is exit only so you can't usually walk in that way) the case is immediately in front of you and you wouldn't be able to miss it! If you can't find the sandwiches go to that door and turn around so your back is facing it and you will see them!

Another vote for Starring Rolls - the sandwiches we've gotten there are turkey/ cheese and ham/ cheese I don't think there are any more but there might be. We get 2 sandwiches (one of each) and split them easily between the 3 of us - if we do 2 CS meals (chips/ cupcakes too) we have cupcakes left over (too much food!) - they'll give you a to go container if you ask for one.

The quickservice at studios is the worst collection of food at any disney property on Earth.

There just isn't anything worth eating.

ABC commisary is the worst location i've ever been too in DL, WDW, or DLP by far...

what's odd is that it tends to be the same fast food property wide...but somehow theirs is just worse in every measurable sense.

If they ever bothered to round out the park...they could add some sushi, seafood...perhaps give it a very thematically friendly "california" kinda food feel. But they haven't really touched the place in the way of services since the last crane left the site in 1989...so i'm not hopeful that anything will get done.

Starring Rolls is pretty good, as well as the Backlot Express. I would go with Starring Rolls because of the cupcakes, the sandwiches are nothing special when compared to Subway, Jimmy Johns, Earl of Sandwich.

Reading this thread is causing a craving for a Butterfinger Cupcake. Dang.

The DHS QS meals aren't really the best, but on our last trip, I had the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich at Backlot Express. It had arugula and roasted red peppers on it, and I thought it was pretty good. I would get it again.

Might have to try Starring Rolls on our upcoming trip in October. The sandwiches sound yummy!

I like Fairfax Fare. I like their BBQ platters better than the similar ones at Cosmic Ray's, and they have the oxymoronically-named gourmet hot dogs that don't look too bad, if you're a hot dog fan. I also like the Fairfax Salad.

I would like to try Starring Rolls but.... in August... air conditioning is a must. We tend to go to ABC Commissary or Pizza Planet. The chicken salad at Pizza Planet is pretty good and the kids said they enjoyed the pizza with side salad combo. We really are not blown away by any CS there.
