How much do you need?

There's a garden place here that drives a truck out to our house every spring and dumps a huge pile of it in our driveway. DH and the boys then load it into the wheelbarrow and pile it where it is needed. It's cheaper than buying it by the bag.

We actually do that every year. But this year we cannot commit an entire day to it. Plus we have some mulching to do now, then some once I plant my garden. I cant have a mound of mulch sitting in my driveway for more than a day. So bagged it is...unfortunately

I am not sure if you have a Home Depot near you.... but they are having like a 3 or 4 day sale that started friday .... ours had a great sale on several things... including mulch. It was $1.40 a bag. Of course, I had already bought 10 a few weeks ago, but I bought about 10 more on Friday. I am planning on going back again today to get a few more.

Just my .02. I purchase no float mulch. I find that when I remulch the following year I do not need as much as most of it is still in the garden. It cost a little more but worth it to me. I usually find it a Lowe's.

I was going to suggest Home Depot's sale also. Just a suggestion - to help keep down weeds in my perennial gardens I put down a layer of thick newspaper/cardboard and then put the mulch on top. It's definitely helped my work load as I have lots of flower beds. We buy mulch by the truck load as we use so much so don't use the bags.

Lowe's has Red Mulch on sale for 99cents a bag.. which is below cost. It ends 4/2 though.
