Okay budget boarders!

Who found the best price for the blu ray version of Avatar? Saw it for 24.99 on Amazon.

Please let me know.. Thanks!

I received an email from Amazon yesterday (4/20)for $19.99 for pre-order Avatar, (combo BD and DVD) eligible for free ship with $25 order. (the usual schtick.) They had a number of blue ray on sale.

Most stores will have it for $19.99 for at least the first three days.

$19.99 at TRU, Target (w/ additional purchase) and I believe BB as well (with additional purchase). That's for the blu ray/DVD combo pack. $16.99 for jus the DVD.

I'm picking it up at TRU with my rewards certs that came the other day. I have 2 I can use this month so $10 off total.

Is this movie really that good? I don't really watch movies .. other than Cars which I almost have memorized at this point ... Cars in a nutshell from my memory only ... "Speed, I am speed. "...and we don't even know who won!" "Race officials have determined..." "Serpentine, serpentine!" "Fly away, Stanley." "Boy, you're in a heap of trouble." "You're in Radiator Springs, the cutest little town in Carborator county." "What did I tell you about talking to the accused? To not to." You get the idea!!! HAHAHA!

I have FINALLY gotten my son to try Buzz & Woody -- and last night we watched Nemo! YEAH! At least it is something other than Lightning "Mickey-Queen" as my son says! The promo I saw on TV made it look quite odd. Cartoon-like but an action movie? I think the last non-Pixar film I rented was Pirates: At World's End. Not sure if this one is worth the time based on the promo, but I do know lots of folks spent money to see it in the theatre? Is it really all that it is cracked up to be?

It's not really a kids movie.....if your son is pretty young, I wouldn't recommend it. It's really more of a grown up movie and goes between Pandora ( an "animated" world" ) and the real world. But it's about war and beliefs . it's really an amazing movie if you like special effects. ( the 3-D version was AMAZING). So is it worth it, IMO, TOTALLY. Would I let my DD4 watch it ? No, definately not. ;)

What makes you think that about the Target price? I just looked at the ad and it says $19.99. Further down, in another section is says $3 off when you buy another blu ray. I read that as an additional $3 off. Am I wrong?

I got that from Slickdeals, I didn't pay a ton of attention to the details since I'm getting it from TRU. But if you check over there and search Avatar, the thread pertaining to it should pop up.

I went to Target this morning to get Avatar for DH's birthday. It was $19.99 for the blu ray+dvd 2 disc set. If you bought one of about five specific blu rays, you could save an additional $3. Two of the movies listed were The Day After Tomorrow and Master & Commander. (can't remember the others)

I had been looking at Day After Tomorrow when I was in Target yesterday and noticed it was on sale for $14.99 so I got that for DH as well.

So in the end, I paid $19.99 for Avatar, $14.99 for DAT and got an additional $3 off of that. :cool2:

Oh, I checked at Costco and they wanted $24.99 for the blu ray+dvd set. Barnes & Noble wanted $39.99 :lmao: - but they were giving 20% off. :rolleyes1

I was told that this release will not have any of the extra features in it, that version will be released in November. I think we're waiting for that.

Do tell...I stopped by a Walmart (in the St. Louis area) and the DVD/BR combo was tagged at $19.99

Here in my town in TX it was $$15.87 (?) and I got an email from ToysRUs and they have it for $14.99 per what the email teaser said. I deleted it without looking though, as I got it yesterday at Wal Mart.

got ours yesterday at local exchange and we paid $15.99 for the blu ray- dvd combo:banana:
