My family is going down to BLT for our first DVC trip home on Oct 2nd-7th and it appears its going to be hot!!! So, we are looking at spending alot of time at the pool...my son is 4 yrs old and daughter is 1...Since it may be super hot, and we can pool hop...any recommendations? Whose got the best pool to hop to & check out other then BLT?

Our kids have always loved CSR pool. They love the slide and it has a great playground. Never seen it very busy either, but I'm sure someone here has. We also like WL but it can be busy.

On our last trip we found out the best time to pool hop was the evenings. Most pools not very busy. DH and I even went to AKV (the new pool) and had a drink. The place was dead and this was Easter week. The pool is very cool for kids but pool hopping is not allowed.

Now that our boys are 14 and 15, DH and I bar hop and tell the boys not to get in trouble around the resort :cool1:

The Polynesian has a fun pool for kids with the water slide coming out of the volcano. That would be an easy Monorail ride from Bay Lake Tower.

Please remember, DVC members cannot pool hop to the pools at Animal Kingdom Lodge or the pools at the Yacht and Beach Club.

Have a great time. :cool1:

my fav slide is OKW
I bet your kids would like splash area at ssr

we also enjoy POR pool, but that isnt zero entry like ssr

IMHO -- with two little ones, given all the time and stuff and fuss involved in packing up and going to another resort (and walking), I'd just enjoy the two fine pools at BLT and the Contemporary. Shade can be hard to come by in the afternoon, if it's going to be really hot -- sometimes it's too hot to go to the pool. If you want to give pool-hopping a try -- I'd second the Poly vote.

After you enjoy Contemporary....

If you really wanted to "lug" your stuff....I would do Poly or WL. Both easy commutes. WL nice boat ride.

I second the Poly pool. It has the volcano w/slide, underwater music, great bar, beach, hammocks and best of all: everyone watches wishes from the beach. Can't think of a better place to "hop" to.

my favorite pool to hop 2 is the garden pool at the Grand Floridian, luxury at its best. I love sitting in the hot tub with the sun beating down on me and just relaxing while getting a nice tan with my favorite adult beverage. :thumbsup2

I would just stick to the monorail line as it will be the easiest transportation wise.

We went to grand floridian. Had a great day - disney trivia and the slide was fun. plus got a lobster cobb salad

and enjoyed it by the pool.

Noted that the lifeguards at poly and gf checked room keys (dvc members ok) and gave out bracelets.

though only bcv/bc/yc had the bracelets?

if you get bored at BLT/CR then definitely go with Polyn or the boat ride to WL/VWL would work too.

kept in mind if you ride the monrail to the Polyn - take some clothes - that monrail can get cold and the ride is long getting back to the CR.

With a car, I like CSR, and OKW. CSR's temple pool is interesting and fun. OKW has a nice slide and pool bar. My favorite hop, though-- and easy from BLT if you don't have a car, is the Poly. Fun pool, good bar, great view of fireworks and water pageant if you're there after dark.

Agreed, I can't imagine pool hopping being worth while for a 4 and 1 year old. They just need 2 things. 1) there has to be water and 2) it has to be wet.

For variety, just bring swim pants or clothes changes to the EPCOT and DTD fountains while you are there.

We were staying at BLT and hopped one day to poly and one day to gf and were asked for room keys and given bracelets at both. It wasn't even that busy of a day in late august - plenty of tables, too. We also stayed for a few days at BC and they also asked for keys and gave bracelets, but it has been that way in the past. I have never been asked for ID before or given a bracelet anywhere besides storm along bay. I was glad to see it - I think that may be why we were able to get umbrella tables at both pools so easily (which we needed with a baby).

I have pool hopped at Poly after a nice dinner at Ohana and stayed for EBP and fireworks. I thought we would hop to GF because kids loved it so much on our last trip but they loved the pool at BLT just as much and never wanted to leave. DS wants to hop to the "bowling pin" pool next time--LOL!!!
