My children will be almost 7 and 2 during our trip in October. We hope to arrive on a Wednesday afternoon and leave on Sunday afternoon. Help me! What's our best "plan of attack"? I know we want to experience MK first. We're open to suggestions after that. What to do, what to skip, how long each park takes, etc. Thanks for any help. I've only just begun collecting info!

Hi
I start by deciding which parks I'd like to see based on the number of days.
Then I check ExtraMagicHour, and avoid that. We are not early risers so we go to a park that is not EMH for that day.
Once I know which park and which day, I research and book my Prority seatings and character meals.

Also, and I can't stress this enough, AVOID THE MK ON SAT even during the off season. Unless of course you like mob scenes. :)

Another strategy we emloy when parks close early...We save EPCOT for the evening. For example on day one we will do MK until 4 ish, head back to hotel for a break then go to EPCOT around 6 for dinner and fun. EPCOT is always open until 9. This way you won't use up a whole day at EPCOT, unless of course you want too! We can usually be found at EPCOT every evening during the low season.

Happy planning

Do yourself a big favor and buy the Unofficial Guide. It will be a huge help with your planning.

One game plan is to go to the park the day after its EMH day. That's what we plan on doing--MK on Monday, AK on Tuesday, MGM on Wednesday and Epcot on Thursday.

Depends on whether or not you want to get up early for Extra Magic Hour. If you want to go to MK first, you can either go on Wednesday, your arrival day (one of the slower days for MK), or Thursday is EMH if you want to go then.

Were you planning on going into the parks on Wednesday and Sunday?

Try touringplans.com, they have an interactive page telling the best days of the week for each park according to which season you're going.
