My BF and I are heading to MK for one day we are both newbies to Disney so I need the help of the wonderful DISers on this board.

We would like to see/do as much as possible
The park opens at 9am and with extra magic hours closes at 11

We would definitly like to hit the bigger rides like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad (maybe more then once)

We would also like to see the parade, the water parade, and meet some characters

And basicly get on as many rides/attractions as we can

What time is the rope drop and where does it occur?

So my question is which "lands" should i go to first?

Can I have a brief overview of the order of the lands we should go to?

Any other tips/advice always appriciated!

Also whats good to see for FREE at DTD?!

My suggestion is to run over to space mountain at rope drop. Depending on how crowded MK will be that day, the rope drop could be in different places. I'd get a space mt. fastpass, then run over to splash mt. and ride. Right after splash mt. go on big thunder mountain. After big thunder, it will be time to do space mt. After space mt. ride buzz lightyear since your right near it. By this time, I'd do some fantasyland before lunch. You may be able to do a lot right before park closing too when a lot of the families with younger kids leave for the night.

thanks for your response just a quick question for ya, does this plan require alot of running all over the park? We are unfamiliar with the park so I dont want to be running all over the place I just kinda want to explore all the different lands but I'm not sure in what order!

Sounds like you might have competing agendas here. You want to see and do as much as possible, but you also want to take it easy and explore. Basically you need to pick one and go with it. If you want to take the laid back approach, you'll have to choose what stuff you want to skip. If you choose "see and do everything" you'll have to be a little aggressive. It also depends on when you're going, as crowd levels make a huge difference as well.

My recommendation would be to hit Fantasyland first since the greatest concentration of low capacity rides is there. Then over to Libery Square, Frontierland, Adventureland, take the train to ToonTown Fair, then over to Tomorrowland. Take you time leaving and explore Main Street on the way out.

Hope that gives you some ideas!
