Best places to eat with a large group?

What are the best places to eat with a large group (parks or resorts)? We will be travelling with 12 people ages 1-52, including 3 kids - 1, 2 and 8. I am planning on making on PS per day (well most days) and using this as our primary "together" time.

The places I would like to do for sure are Rose and Crown, Chef Mickey's and '50s Prime Time Cafe. Are these group friendly?

Any other suggestions?

Thank you so much! Until now, my largest group was 3 people, so planning for the WHOLE family may prove a little challenging.

I have seen many large groups at 'Ohana having a great time.
Rehearsal dinners, proms and a 50th anniversary party - all seemingto enjoy it.
Seems to be a good place for people of all ages and they seem to know how to handle it.

We were a group of 12 last December (from 16 to 83) - we enjoyed CaGrill, Tepanyaki, Morocco, Artist Point and Mama Melrose. My DS-I-L doesn't do buffets, so we were limited. The Japanese restaurant is the only one where we had 2 tables (right next to each other). The only one we didn't care for was Whispering Canyon Cafe. The atmosphere and goings on were great, but the food was awful.

I'd vote for one of the many buffets. Boma is wonderful. We ate there in November with a group of 9 or 10. 1900 Park Faire at Grand Floridian is also nice. Chef Mickey's is a bit more family/kid oriented.

The advantage of the buffets with a group is everyone gets there food at the same time as opposed to a waiter service sit-down meal where you may not all get served at the same time which can be awkward sometimes.

I haven't been to Whispering Canyon Cafe for a few years so I don't know if it has changed, but we loved it the two times we ate there. They serve family style in a big skillet that everyone takes from. Its fun.

And don't forget Rain Forest Cafe. Always a fun place.

We had a party of 19 in early June. One of the best times we spent together was dinner at Trails End / FW (laid back atmosphere) and then we watched the fireworks from the beach, followed by the parade of lights on the water. The sound of the fireworks was not heard like in the park so the little ones even enjoyed it. The kids and adults sang with the music during the parade and really enjoyed it. Just take a boat from the Contemporary to Fort Wilderness. Oh, for sure get PS.

We just dined at Chef Mickey's and 50's PT with 10 people ranging from 1-57 yrs old on our last trip. No problem at either. I don't think 50's PT could take 12 at one table, but there should be no problem at CM's

tricia- Did you group sit at one big table at 50s? I wasn't sure the had tables or much more than 6-8. BTW, we have no problem splitting to multiple table close together.

We had 11 at one big table at Prime Time - actually a couple of tables put together - remember to wash your hands before you sit down !!!! Have you thought about the Hoop Dee Doo?? We have been there a couple of times with large groups & have been sat right in the middle on the main floor. Lots of FUN for all ages!!!!
