Trying to get things in order and I need to know the best places for Vegan/Vegetarian meals.

Please help :hippie:

There is no place better than Boma for a vegan.

Marrakesh has good options.

Any of the restaurants will do vegan for you if you make a reservation and call in advance.

Some are more vegan friendly than others.

I have not been to Tusker House since it was changed to Buffet. The place was always packed when it just had the Veggie Pitas and I loved that. I just recently realized it is not the same Tusker House.

Did you find the food similar to Boma? I was wondering if anyone has tried breakfast...well I would love to hear about lunch and or dinner, too.

Thanks so much for the reviews and pictures. I always knew WDW was accommodating to vegie and vegan diets, but I had no idea you could get some of the stuff you got. We have a vegan daughter and I can't wait till she sees your posts. My only worry is that I may have to be changing some ADRs once she sees some of it!

I posted some vegan and vegetarian dining reviews from our trip last September. You can check them out here:

Glad I could help! I would have loved a picture post of vegan foods before our trip last year, so I had a feeling others would too! :)

Also to help out most table service carry Ener-G rolls.

Also on the disney website there are links to email addresses for dietary needs.

I had lunch at tuskerhouse in Dec 07. I found it very smiliar to Boma. I'm eating there for bfast in August, so while it won't help with your ADR's, I'll probably be doing a vegetarian dining report.

What are Ener-G rolls? I know about Ener-G egg replacer. Do you mean they can replace the egg with Ener-G if you ask them?

Our friends that our vegan love Boma. They told our waiter and he had the chef come out and give them a tour of the buffet. He also made a vegan soup, vegan entree and vegan dessert for them in addition to the buffet!

DH is vegan and the rest of us are vegetarian and we had no troubles. Evey place we went had plenty for us to eat. The best, as already noted, were Boma and Tusker House. DH got the special chef treatment at Boma and they made him some BBQ tofu. We also ordered a B-day cake for DD at Boma and they were able to make that vegan so DH could partake. I actually liked Tusker House better, but maybe that is because I had no expectations going in. They had really nice tofu dishes and some yummy somosas with chutney. My DH always likes Crystal Palace too but we found there were less vegan options on the lunch menu than at dinner time (I think because they have a fritata at lunch that is in the tofu spot.) We did Hollywood and Vine (Playhouse Disney lunch) and Akershus princess lunch and they were able to find stuff for us there too. On a previous trip, we also went to the Cinderella meal at the Floridian, the name is escaping me at the moment, but we had plenty there too. For counter service, Columbia harbor House in MK has chili and you can get the hummus sandwich without the broccoli slaw...it is a nice break from veggie burgers everywhere else!
I did a quick review when we came back from our trip in January. I think there is a way to look it up by my username.
Also, we always tell the people we are vegan when we call to make our ressies and at the podium. Sometimes the ADR people make a note of it on your reservation, sometimes they don't since they say everyplace will accommodate you (which seems to be true).
Have fun!

They are a pre packaged dinner roll that Ener-G makes.
Just request with the chef that you want the ener-g roll and they will get them for you. Also you can ask the chef to see the wrapper. ( if you like em and want to order them)

I believe they are the Tapioca rolls.

Their roll products are at

Also if you have a celebration- You can get a vegan cake - if you call the cake line just go to the correct restaurant and request a vegan cake. Usually they need only 1-2 weeks lead time. Some chefs may order it, some may want to try and make themselves.

My DD and I are vegan, she is 4 but will eat just about anything I eat, anyway I will be keeping tabs on all things vegan here.

Any new advice? We have a severe lactose allergy so we have to be super careful and can't handle anyone pulling a fast on on us.

We are vegetarian and have been to Disney 4 times, the latest last week. This time DS11 and DD9 liked Tusker House better than Boma. We liked Boma better last visit. A lot of Boma's dishes taste similar, but Tusker house had a wider variety of spices we felt (some Mediterranean, not just African). The Chef at Tusker house was awesome; DD9 has a peanut allergy as well. He gave us a tour of all the food, and gave DD9 her own desserts x 3 to take with her in the park.

I will warn you that we ate at Toyko Dining and had an awful experience. The waitress did not understand and with each question left for 30 minutes to produce the manager (not Chef) who would only say that the menu was basically not flexible and the Chef 'would not allow substitutions.' There are vegan options on the menu, so we did eat tempura and sushi, which were fair at best. We had another ressie for TeppanEdo the next day that we prompty cancelled. The restaurants are next to each other and we could see that 8 people ate at one grill, mostly meat smoking in the air. We figured there would be no way to work that one out, given the 2 hour ordeal we had at Tokyo Dining. That was our only disappointment with eating the entire week; but even then we had a nice table overlooking Epcot lake during a storm, so all was forgotten.

We liked Mama Melrose, Chef Mickey is ok, Wolfgang Puck Express, Crystal Palace, Boma, Tusker House.

Also, you can ask for the veggie burger at Typhoon Lagoon. It is on the screen where you place the order; it just isn't posted on the menu. The veggie burger at Restaurantosaurus in AK has a great toppings bar!!

Tangarine Cafe (Morocco in WS) has a wonderful vegetarian plate that I get every time I'm there.

You can menus here and on All Ears to give you ideas. I love the veggies sandwiches at Columbia Harbor House and the CS next to Star Tours. ( Backlot?)

My favorite TS entrees are the tofu dish at Sci-fi and the coconut tofu dish at Brown Derby.
