We just returned from our first stay on points at VWL, and my DH was having a fit about the lack of discounts available to members. As a DC member and an AP holder, we got many more discounts than being a DVC member. He also tried to get the advertised 20% DVC discount at Disney Quest and was told that it no longer existed (there was some discount, but not 20%).

As I've read here before, I know there's not much hope of changing anything since they've already got us as members, but he would still like to write a letter expressing his opinion. I just wasn't sure where we should write.

While you can certainly express your concerns to the DVC offices in Celebration, FL , you should have received a listing of all member perks and discounts at check in. The list is also available online at the DVC Member's Only site. There is an extensive list- actually more discounts than with either DC or AP as far as restaurants and recreational options.

The current Disney Quest discount (from the Member's site) is:

"DisneyQuest® -- The Ultimate Interactive Adventure!
Climb into a real river raft and ride the rapids on a Virtual Jungle Cruise. Design your own roller coaster and then ride it on CyberSpace Mountain. These are only two of the adventures that await guests of all ages at DisneyQuest! Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount of $4 per person ages 10 and up and $3 per person ages 3-9 on DisneyQuest tickets, and a 10% discount on food and beverages from the Cheesecake Factory Express inside DisneyQuest and on one-of-a-kind merchandise at the DisneyQuest Emporium. Located at Downtown Disney® West Side. For information, call 407-828-4600†. "

Thanks - we were given two packets with DVC discount information (one was a newspaper-type letter and the other a smaller version to carry with you) and both still listed Disney Quest as a 20% discount. Some of the other discounts that were better - for dinner at Fulton's we received 10% off with an AP plus free wine glasses for DC (DVC discounts were only available at lunch) and 50% off miniature golf for AP holders. The main one is the DC discount on park hopper plus passes, I don't understand why DVC doesn't offer that also.

If the "Portable Perks" they gave you at check-in still had the 20% discount listed, you should have received the discount. Someone sure dropped the ball on that one. I would have expected Disney Quest to honor the promotion when you showed them what you were given at check-in.

I'd certainly write to Jackie Leuders at the DVC offices in Celebration (sorry I don't have a more complete address for you).

Good Luck!

Member Satisfaction Manager, Jackie Lueders, can be reached by calling 800-800-9800 at member services. More than likely, they will take your phone # and she will return your call within 2 busines days.

You can send an email to members@disneyvactionclub.com (subject: ATTN
JACKIE LUEDERS), or write to: Disney Vacation Club, Attn: Jackie Lueders, 200 Celebration Place, Celebration, FL 34747.

Let us know the results, please.

I have found Jackie to be a good listener, willing to do research on a problem and
fair about the results.

MrsM is totally correct, I pulled out my "Portable Perks" thingie and there it is: 20% off tickets at DQ plus 10% discount at the Cheesecake Factory Express and 10% discount at the DQ Emporium. These offers are for Sept/Oct. 2002 according to the dates on the front. How much did you get off the tickets? Not percentage, but actual dollars?

In addition to contacting Jackie, you could also write to Member Services. MS will forward your information to the CM in charge of benefits. I have dealt with this CM many times over the years (an advantage to going to the annual meetings :) ), & she is more than willing to listen to members' concerns about benefits & to help them.

I stopped by the front desk at the Beach Club last week & asked for a copy of DVC benefits. I like the new formats - both the newspaper & the pocket guide.

This has been almost 2 yrs ago but we had a similiar problem at the Cape May Cafe. They refused the whole idea that we could get a discount. We had the small thing listing it and our cards but we protested to no avail.

We were at OKW earlier in the month, and my niece and her husband went to DQ and were also told that the 20% discount was no longer in effect. She had the portable perk sheet with her and showed it to the CM and he gave them the 20% discount.
