Best place to watch parade close to crystal palace?

Is there a good place to watch the afternoon parade close to here?

I have 1.10pm ADR for CP..so Iam planning on watching the 3pm parade after fininshing up here.

I've tried to search for this but can't find it? How long shall i allow to sit and wait for the parade.

Will 2.30 be plenty of time.... . Is there any shade? I would be grateful for any help..as this is my first visit I have no idea.

This will be August 28th...a non EMH day so Iam hoping is won't be too busy

A couple of years ago we watched the afternoon parade over by the Sleepy Hollow snack place. It was in the shade because they have those big umbrellas up on the side and we just sat under one by the street and we got to see everything when they came by. They even pulled some people and kids by us to be in the parade and dance(I think it was Peter Pan and Wendy).

I think if you got there at 2:30 you should have plenty of time to get a good spot, especially if the park isn't that crowded.
