WE have never been to a parade at US. We will be there in March while they have the Mardi Gras parade. Since I am not familiar with US can anyone suggest where to view the parade??

Thanks

Any place is a good place, I am partial to the front of Kong, at the end of the parade it seems more beads and coins get tossed there. Any place is really a good place to view it though.

I normally go towards the middle of the parade route. If you want to have the best chances to catch the beads I would choose an area that has something behind you and the people on the floats can't throw the beads too far. I don't go near the stage that area is normally mobbed with people.

I like the area where the parade starts, usually near Jaws. Not too many people crowd around there and beads are a plenty. The stage area is way too crowded!

I think the parade passes one area actually twice. I can't recall where it is.

Everyone unloads a LOT of beads around the Jaws area because its where the parade usually starts and people are anxious to get rid of them.... sometimes the parade starts from the NY area by Twister so you might want to ask where its starting.

When you say, "unload beads" what exactly does that mean??

Are the people in the parade throwing beads or do the spectators buy beads and throw them?

I told my DD about the beads and she "gasped"!! She said "do we have to show our b##bs??" I couldn't believe she even knew about that!!!

It is a family event, isn't it??

People that are riding on the floats are throwing beads. You can also buy other types of beads. Each person on the float has around 300 beads and 50 coins that they can throw along the parade route.

We caught beads any where we stood, but the place I thought was the best was where the parade ended. We got pelted(Literally) with people getting rid of the beads.

I would suggest the end of the parade route. When we got to throw beads last year, they warned us to be somewhat conservative at the start to help judge how many beads you'd have, so you didn't run out at the end making people unhappy when you didn't have anything to throw. I think most people saved so many beads till the end, we just had to toss them 2-3 at a time to get rid of them. They asked us to only keep around 10 for ourselves.

It's far more fun to ride a float. It was the highlight of my son's trip. I went to Guest Relations and enquired about who gets to ride on the float and he asked how many were in the party and how old/tall my son was and then gave us bands and told us to report to a steward over by the Jaws area. We then got to ride the float. It was great fun.

that would depend on what your priorities are and if there is a concert that evening or not and you want to see it as well and be close to the front of the stage. 3

like others have said, there is really no bad place to view the parade. it all depends on what you want to do after it has passed you. :smooth:

after it is over there is a mass of people to get thru if you have a specific destination in mind:smooth:
