It's called "Splash Mountain", not "Stay nice and dry Mountain" You're on vacation, get wet, it's ok.
Over by the benches next to City Hall.![]()
This thread is very interesting! I'm working up the courage to do it for the first time in all my trips when I go this January and am trying to decide where to sit and what to wear to be prepared!
I have gotten soaked by the "Splash cannon". To clarify the splash cannon whjich has been mentioned before. When a log comes down the hill, a cannon shoots water to the sides of the hill to simulate the splash of the log just as the log goes under the tunnel. One of the cannons is aimed to the left of the hill (when looking at the hill). In the path of this cannon is the approach to an uphill climb that the log goes up early in the ride. If the timing is right (or wrong) your log may get hit by this cannon splash, which will get you soaked.
In front and just duck when the big splash comes!![]()
I thought I heard somewhere that they set a new height limit of 5' minimum for the front row because kids were "ducking" and getting too far into the log risking injury. I thought it was interesting because as a fully grown but petite woman, I am under 5' and wouldn't make the bar!![]()
