Where is the best place to be at the sailaway party ?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I cant remember !!

We always go up to Deck 10 & watch the party - & dance & sing up there! Then, we go into the area between the pools along the railing to watch the sail off.

We also went up to Deck 10, also got to wave to people at Jetty Park as we were sailing up the channel.

Definately deck 10.............it's also a good place and time for a "dis meet".

However, if you have kids and if you want them to have a chance to dance and hold hands with the characters, I guess Deck 9 may be a better place!

::yes::

Hellllooooo People!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get on the dance floor (aka the Goofy Pool) and shake your groove thang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on what you are wanting to do for the sailaway party... do you wanna be part of the action? Well then you have to be front and center on the Goofy Pool Dance floor. But if you want to be a spectator... then I would go with the Deck 10 overlook. It's also very cool once the ship gets moving to head all the way forward and watch it sail out the channel and out to sea.. When you see that open ocean--that's when you know your cruise has really begun!!

Deck 10 gets my vote. In addition to the sail away party, it's a great place to watch everything as you pull out of port!

So deck ten works for us, one time we actually just enjoyed the sail away on our veranda

We'll be a party of 4 adults (DH, myself, DSIL, & DBIL), plus our two DSs ages 16 and 13 when we cruise. I know they/we won't want to be down on deck 9 for the sailaway party. We don't even care for the parades in WDW.

How long does the sailaway party last? I don't want to miss it altogether, but I don't really want to spend a lot of time just watching the show. I do like the idea of being higher up on Deck 10, to watch as we sail away.

Any other ideas on what to do during the sailaway party?? We will have a verandah... Is it fun to sailaway while on your verandah??

YES your veranda is a very nice place to be for the sailaway!! You can still hear the music but it is not so loud, you can have your tropical drink or champage and watch the ship move out to sea. In all likelyhood we will do that again this year

I'd recommend your own veranda (if you're lucky enough to have one -- we weren't, but it certainly didn't ruin our trip!), or the far aft deck. Of course, from either of these locations, you won't see the characters or hear the music.

The sail away party itself was sooooo overcrowded that we didn't enjoy it at all, and we left. The only other thing we didn't enjoy was the Tropical Deck Party on Nassau night -- same reason: too many people, too little space.

I would like to see SEVERAL sail away parties held simultaneously onboard. One by each pool, for example. It'd divide the huge crowd into more managable numbers.

If you don't want a crowd, Deck 4 is very nice. My daughter and I went there and stayed there until we were out to sea. Very quiet, lovely to watch the ship ahead of you make that turn out into the great blue.!

Seaspray,

I would reccommend at least watching the party until the countdown and then head all the way forward and watch the ship start to head out to see. It's really pretty cool to see all the action around sailing out. On one side all the way forward.. you can see a outlook station from the bridge and you can watch them. It's really cool. You can wave to the people on the jetty and then its awesome when you get through the channel and you are out at sea and all you see is the first cruise ship out in the distance!!
