I'm looking for something that could withstand a good amt of rain. I'm afraid the really cheapie ones really doesn't help much unless it only drizzles.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks a bunches!

I purchased our from Walmart in the camping section. They had both coleman and sterns brand. Got both adult and kid sizes.

I agree that the "good ones" work better, but I prefer to wear and toss. I can't stand carrying the wet poncho around. And, try folding it wet, back into the little pouch!

Oooh Thanks you two!
I didn't realize they sell those at camping section. Good thinking...

:lmao: That's true... but I usually just shake them off and stick them in a plastic bag until we get back in our room. Then we'll dry them off properly.
The cheapie ones don't really do anything for me during a good size rain. It's almost as good as putting a plastic bag on my head and running for it...

That's what we do :), or we just say the heck with it and enjoy the rain.

Just bought some today at the Dollar Tree store... two to a pack for 1 buck. I always get them there. We use them once or twice and chunk them after that.

Just be sure you buy them before you leave home. We find that stores in the Disney area sell the same items as they do at other locations, but the prices are noticeably higher.
There is a WinnDixie food store 1 mile outside of Disney that seems like everything is doubled the price of what you would find at the same store back home.

I buy ours in the camping section at Target. They carry the Coleman brand and I usually pick them up on clearance for around $2.50. Right now Target has the Kelty brand rain jackets on clearance for $17.50 (50% off). I might pick up a few of them when they go to 75% off.

If you are looking for a high quality reusable poncho that will last a few years you will want to check out both Cabela's and Columbia.

Cabela's also sells really great umbrellas that will last a good number of years, and DO NOT soak up water. Water just runs off them because the fabric is water proofed.

If you are looking for really cheap throw away ponchos you can get them 2 for $1.00 at Dollar Tree Stores.
