My step-son is thinking about popping the question to his girlfriend on our big family trip this fall... That got us thinking about the best, most romantic place to propose... We were thinking the rose garden with the Castle as a backdrop... or maybe during the fireworks... I know, very corney, but hey, why not. So, I told him that I would do a little research to help him out...

So all my experts out there, what are your suggestions???

Thanks
Ty

My fiance proposed to me at midnight after the park closed, right at the castle in front of the archway to Fantasyland. It was incredibly romantic with not a soul in sight!!!:lovestruc

If you're looking for romantic, I would say maybe something more private? I'm not sure if they're shy people, but there will be a lot of people around if it is during the fireworks or in the Rose Garden. Maybe he could do it on her favorite ride? I think the wishing well by the castle can be a little more quiet than the rose garden, if he wants to do it in the shadow of the castle. I think the Poly beach at night during the fireworks would be very romantic. But I'm biased as I got engaged at the beach (not in Disney).

Oh how lovely :)

You know where I think would be lovely, if your step son and his girlfriend arrange to watch the wishes fireworks from the poly beach. I think that would be just wonderful and very romantic. He could even take a picnic with a hidden bottle of champagne. :)

I also really like seeing proposals happen when the couple are supposedly just getting a photopass picture taken. Very cute. :thumbsup2

Another idea if your step son wants to get the family involved is do something like this:

A photo memory is great so if he does it in front of a photopass photographer you get some great photos.

No, no not me as Chilly said it was posted on the Disney wedding blog but it's also done the rounds on the rest of the internet - the story is here: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comment...ay_to_propose/

I got engaged in Disneyland Paris, at the end of the night whilst we were walking out. I was eating a waffle and drinking hot chocolate at the time lol :rotfl:

I got engaged at Disneyland Paris as well. First thing in the morning on the balcony of the castle.

My son in law just got down on 1 knee in frount of the arch on the castle stairway. the people stopped and enjoyed the special moment with our family. They all clapped and told them congratulations after they had a quick kiss and hugg. My wife did not know he was going to ask our daughter to marry him at WDW and it was just as big of a surprise to her as our daughter. She didn't get out of the picture in time, so we can see her running to get out of the way. I am sure what ever he does with be great.
