Best place to buy the Annual Pass

Ok, now that I've booked a summer vacation with the Annual Passholder rate, I need the AP. I bought one a few years ago, but I can't remember where I got it. Are discounts on that pass ever available or is this one where the price is the price (which is fine)? Also, does it have to be activated before I check in or is the voucher good enough? We're using ME, so I won't have a car to go to DTD or a park to activate it.

You order AP's online or by phone. You will get a voucher which you will need to exchange for the actual ticket unless you choose the will call option. In that case, you would have to go to a Guest Relations location with confirmation number and photo ID to pick up the activated pass.

You can also wait until you get to Florida and purchase an already activated AP at the Earport shops at the airport, at any WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations location including the two at DTD.

There are no general public discounts on AP's. The only current discounts are for Florida residents, military, DVC members and cast members.

If the CM at the front desk asks to see your AP to confirm that you are elligible for the AP disvount the AP must be activated, they will not accept the voucher. That said when I checked in on 12/16/04 the CM at ASMu did not ask for my AP so we checked in, went to the room and then went to MK and I got the AP activated.

This used to be so much easier when you could activate your AP voucher at the EarPort store at MCO. Now you can buy an AP there but you must go to a park to activate a prepurchased AP voucher.
