best place for a scooter?

We rented from wdw last time, it was fine albeit expensive. The battery went dead though and had to wait for a new one to be brought. Im thinking that convenience might be worth the extra cost.

I have never had a problem with Walker mobility. Used them for a trip with my grandmother, they even have a pink one!

Just returned and we used Apple Scooters. Loved it! It was nice and we charged it at night and it NEVER left the green charged section...except if we were going uphill, then it would go down to yellow but as soon as we leveled out it was green again! It was at POFQ when we got there (word of warning; bell services closes, we were super delayed so had to pick up the next morning).

I have used scooter bug twice and have been very very pleased with them, I had a problem both times not their fault, bell services gave my scooter to the wrong person one time and the second I broke the scooter charger plug and both times I had a new scooter within an hour

I used Best Price Mobility with no issues. It was in good condition & they had great customer service the one time I needed to call them with a question. It was at bell services waiting for me when I went to check in so it was on time as well.

when I looked on the websites they told you which were portable, how much they weighed & if they could go in a SUV or regular car.

We use Buena Vista all the time. We get their 'portable' scooter which breaks down. Battery lifts out (it's the heaviest part), seat lifts off, tiller folds down. though we've never done it I believe the back wheel housing disconnects too.

I've used Apple Scooters twice and no problems other than with the headlight. It would take numerous times of flipping the light switch to get it to come on. But battery wise and everything else it worked great.

I'm so glad to see these positive reports on Apple. I read just one horrible review of them on TripAdvisor (come to think of it, why am I assuming it was true?) which scared me. Also, I have a question for anyone who's used Walker Mobility. Was it inconvenient to use one of the vendors that's not on the preferred list? Am I correct that it meant that you had to meet them when they delivered the ECV? How flexible are they on times delivering/picking up? Are they on time? I just don't want to eat up a large portion of our first day getting my ECV.

I was just scrolling through posts seeing if I could find reviews on apple scooter and came a crossed your post so I thought I would share some insight. We rented from Walker last year and they were WONDERFUL! Excellent customer service, very friendly, and pretty much on time. We were driving down to Disney so I didn't really have too much planned the first day except maybe a few hours in Magic Kingdom and dinner at CRT. They give you an hour window time of delivery, so in our case we chose 2:30-3:30 for delivery time...I called them around 2:30 to see if I could get a more precise time and they said the driver would contact me when they were in the area. Around 2:45 I got a call from the driver saying they would be by my hotel around 3. They were right on time, and waiting for me when I got to the front entrance to the hotel. After they made sure that I knew how to drive the ECV and I wasn't going to kill anyone on it they were on their way and so was I, lol. We had a little problem with the battery not charging over night because of a bad charger, but I called them first thing in the AM and they were able to put a whole new ECV on the truck for delivery for me and had it to me with in the hour...and they delivered it to me at the Poly bc thats where our breakfast was that AM and gave me a new charger as well. When our vacation was over I scheduled pick up for 1:00PM-2:00PM again you give them an hour time...we had lunch scheduled at Tonys at 11:30 and I wasn't sure what time we would finish there. It really didn't matter bc we were drving so we could leave when we wanted, but once we were done we really wanted to get on the road. This is where the inconvenient part came in (of no fault of the company though) We were done Tonys by 12:30, back to our hotel by 12:45 (Grand Floridan) and at this point we were already checked out so now we just had to hang out and wait in the lobby for the ECV company to come and pick up the scooter. They came at exactly 2:00PM to pick the scooter up. Even though we loved Walker we hated having to wait around for them to pick the scooter up so on our next trip we are going to give apple scooter a try and hopefully they will be just as good.

Interesting, thanks. After reading your post, I'm leaning towards renting from one of Disney's vendors (whatever they're called, "preferred"?) so that we don't have to wait around. I've rented in the parks, so I feel confident I can drive an ECV. One question, do the "preferred" vendors leave an owner's manual, or does bell services spend a minute or two just pointing things out again? It's been a year since I've used an ECV, so I could use a quick 2 minute reminder.

Typically I don't believe that vendors will leave a manual, but I have a feeling that it will all come back to you quicker than you think!

Bell services *may* be able to help, but don't count on it - instead, I would work with the vendor to find out in advance which model they will deliver, then Google that model - you should be able to find a .PDF of the owners manual online.
