Hello everyone! My family are now new members of DVC....We want to stay in a one bedroom at Saratoga Springs. I have 2 children ages 6 and 3. Can someone give me an idea about what room to request. I was thinking something not too far from the pool. Any suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks so much! :earsgirl:

We like the Congress Park area near the quiet pool. We find the themed pools, at all resorts, to be too busy for us. I would suggest looking at a map of the resort and see where you'd like to be. Keep in mind that this is a big resort. Things aren't as close as they appear on the map!

I would totally suggest that you not request a specific room! It will be very, very difficult to meet that request. You should request if you want a smoking or non-smoking villa first, then you should request a building or an area such as Congress Park, etc. It is often hard enough to meet general requests, but those for specific rooms is nearly impossible.

You should also make your requests when you make your reservation as sometimes rooms are assigned before you arrive. If you've already made your reservation, you can call back and add them.

Have a great trip! Oh yeah, WELCOME HOME! :earsboy:

Welcome to the DISboards!

We loved Congress Park -- but all of the open buildings were in Congress Park at the time of our visit. We enjoyed the quiet pool and the Downtown Disney view from our room. The path along the lake was also very nice. We've requested Congress Park for our July trip, but would be happy to try The Springs due to its close proximity to the themed pool!

we stayed in congress park a few weeks ago. if i try SSR again i'll request the Springs though because it's much closer to the main pool and the store.

welcome home!

can you see DD from all the rooms

No. I looked at the maps once and estimated that 60% of the rooms in Congress Park have some substantial view of Downtown Disney.

YODA 1968....Welcome Home!!!

I second the thought on the Springs.....DH and I stayed in the middle building
of Springs in mid May and it was a wonderful location....since it was only the two of us this trip we opted for a studio, but, it was great because that particular building is directly across the street from the main pool and the laundry (which in a 1 or 2 bedroom doesn't really matter). We were only a few rooms from the elevator on second floor (closest we've EVER been to the elevator and PARKING). We had a beautiful evening view of the lake behind the building with the fountains.......very pretty. It's also very close to the bus stop if you're using the buses (we do very infrequently) I know a lot of people haven't had a lot of good things to about SS, but, personally I found it very nice. Definitely different from the hotel like experiences at BWV, BCV,
and VWL (which is our OTHER home), but, beautiful nonetheless.

On two previous stays, we were in Congress Park which had a great view of Downtown Disney and was near the Quiet Pool. We walked to DD each night and this location was obviously a quicker walk to DD.

We just got back yesterday from a week stay and we chose the Springs this time. Our building was right behind the bus stop and across the street from the main pool. We liked this location for the proximity to the main building and the bus stop. We also had the soda refill mug and it was very convenient to stop in and get it refilled before or after going to the room- definitely got our $$$ worth out of the mug this time). The main pool was busy- but not too crowded. Our view was of the water and you could see the construction on the other side of the water- but once they are finished it will be a lovely view as well. We still walked to DD- it was a little further than Congress Park, but still a nice walk (and you can always catch a bus to DD). There are also laundry facilities near each pool.

I just don't think you can go wrong with either location- it's all great and each has it's advantages.

Have a great time!!!!! We had a great vacation...wonder if we can get DH's work to send him to Orlando for another conference soon?!?

We are staying at SSR in OCT for 10 nights in a 2Bdrm. I am interested to know how far the main pool is from the Springs section? 5 min walk? 2 blocks? We wanted to stay in congress park, but with the toddlers in tow (twin boys and a 1 yr old boy), we feel the Springs may be better in order to get to the main pool. I know Congress park has a quite pool, but my wife and I like the zero entry feature of the main pool for watching the kids play.

We stayed in the Springs Villas room 3536. For reference, the sign said Villas 3101-3836. Our building was located next to the bus stop and across the street from the main pool. Our room was actually on the far side of the building. I would say from our room to the main pool was less than 5 minutes. I think any of the Springs locations would be 5 minutes or less from the main pool- no bad at all! Hope that helps!!

We are going also in Oct. ( I can´t wait) and asked if the villa could be in the Congress Park area. Do they respect the petition or the put you in the villa that is available at the moment?
Of course after reading this I think any area will be fine.

We stayed in Congress Park a few weeks ago (1603 - 1BR). We had a view of Downtown Disney facing Cirque. It was great sitting on the balcony overlooking the water and Downtown.
