We are going to Disney this weekend and with the cold I am rethinking my park strategy. My dd8 went to Disney a year and a half ago but SiL and niece (7) have never been. Of course we are going to do MK but we only have one other day. I was going to do AK but with the cold I wonder if that would be best. I really enjoyed Epcot but don't know if that is really best for the little ones. I guess maybe we will just have to play it by ear(s). If I can get the special 2day hopper tix from the resort we can always change parks if AK is too cold so I am just going to hope they will do that (technically we should get 4 day but we aren't going to be there that long!).

We were there this week, temps in the 50s/60s, it felt chilly (and we're from the north!)

Animal Kingdom has a lot of shade--aside from the kids' petting area, we were freezing! So I would avoid that one and try Epcot.

Our kids--10, 8, 4, and 2, loved Epcot. There is a lot to do there for little kids--the Living Seas had a wonderful Nemo exhibit, we spent 2 hours there. The two older girls loved making masks and getting stamps for their "passports" at each country...that was actually their favorite park. We also had the character lunch at the Garden Grill in the Land pavilion--Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale, it was great.

I don't know why people say Epcot isn't for kids--ours loved it. There are some great kids attractions there--Body Wars, Test Track, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Maelstrom (in Norway), Rio del Tiempo (Mexico), and the boat ride (Land pavillion). We also did Epcot on the first day (we saved Magic Kingdom for the last two days, knowing once they got a taste of that, that's all they'd want to do!).

Have fun!

MGM has a lot of shows and since some of them are inside that might be a little warmer. Maybe start out at MGM and then move to Epcot Future World after several hours. They are not far apart so it won't take long to park hop. I think that World Showcase is extra cold when the weather is cold and windy, but Future World is not bad. Make sure you go to Turtle Talk in the Living Seas area. It was "two thumbs up" from all 5 in our party--ranging in age from almost 5yo to 81yo.

T&B

We did Epcot in the pouring rain a year and a half ago (dd was almost 7) and she was ok with it but got bored with some of it. However, with the weather the indoor activities may be the better ones. I was not thrilled with MGM. My dd kept wanting to go into the Ariel show, once was enough for me.

I guess we will watch the weather once we get there and determine which day will be better to be at MK all day since we want to stay for the fireworks.

Thanks!
