First timers 7/18-7/25 @ WL :woohoo: with DH, DS8, and DS7. Want to be prepared daily in the parks, but don't know what essential items to bring and best way to carry it all. Do you suggest the boys bring anything if so in what or just one large bag/backpack? How logical is it to bring a camera/video camera. What happens to these things when going on the attractions? :confused3

I usually take a (gasp) fanny pack that's fairly small and holds my point and shoot camera, a few wet wipes, a small autograph book and pen, our ticket/room cards and a few of those drink mix tubes to add to water bottles (to make the icky tap water drinkable.) It also holds the very basics from my purse.

Your husband can have a second one that has rain ponchos and whatever other small stuff you need. A backpack will be REALLY hot in July, but it would be great for water bottles. The backpack can go at your feet most rides, but a fanny pack can just be worn on almost everything.

I personally don't lug a video camera because my camera will take (bad, but acceptable) video if I need it. Plus, I would rather live the fun moment than stand there shooting video. Have fun!

Agree with pp...a backpack will be hot - but try to find a small/lightweight one. These are some things I bring with me:

sunscreen
ponchos
frozen water bottles
small spray fan
zip-lock baggies - various sizes
my itinerary with ADR #'s, etc.
light up toys if will be there for late night (glo sticks might be good for July as you won't want to carry anything heavy)
I always throw in at least one extra pair or shirt/shorts/socks - My kids are close in age too and I can bring one set that will work on either of them (might just be a little big on the smaller one) - for 'emergency' situations.

We bring one backpack (that can go on EVERY ride - even the fast ones) and then I bring a shoulder-strap bag where I keep the valuables - tickets, Disney Visa, kids' envelopes with their own $ in it and small camera.

We sometimes bring the camcorder, but honestly, it is a pain, IMO. So we don't very often. Ours isn't small enough to just throw in - maybe someday we'll have one of those really small ones and I can bring it with ease!
