Best P & S?

I'm thinking about upgrading from my Canon SD500 before I go to Europe in April. I really don't want a heavy DSLR with removeable lenses that will make taking pictures a chore, but I do want to have more control than I currently have.

So what do you guys think is the best P & S? I was thinking about the Canon S5 IS, but I'd like some other opinions. :>

I think the Canon S5 (like the S3, before it) is the best superzoom camera on the market, right now. It's a fantastic combination of features and capabilities.

Since you're already a Canon user, I doubt you'd be dissatisfied with it.
