Just booked our first ever OKW trip! I was wondering what the "good" buildings are for the 2-bedrooms?

We would like to be close to the main building as FIL will be recovering from foot surgery and it would be most helpful to be close to all the good stuff!

THANKS!

You might want to call back and request "Near Hospitality House" since that is a guarenteed reservation category now. Otherwise, EVERY building at OKW has 2BR villas. Buildings 11-14 and 23-26 are in the "Near HH" category, bu(IMO) buildings 15-18, 27-29, 62-64, 15-18 are also NEAR Hospitality House and would meet your needs.

Be aware that if you will have guests sleeping on the sleep sofa in the living room, there is only one access to the master bathroom for Buildings 11 - 29 and that is thru the Master Bedroom. Buildings 30 and above have a second access thru the laundry room. If this is important for your party, you might consider that in making a request.

Every bus at OKW will stop at the Hospitality House before leaving the resort, so transportation to that area is pretty easy. There is also an "Internal Bus" that stops at Hospitality House before going to the other stops before returning to Hospitality House and then on to DD. So, you can access all OKW areas from HH.

Enjoy your trip! :)

The Hospitality House (main pool area) is a separate booking category. So unless you actually booked a reservation for that area, you will not be able to request it later.

We like all areas, but Turtle Pond has been a favorite in the past for us...

We had requested HH in July and received Bldg 27. We liked the location, very close to the bus stop and a short 5 minute walk to the pool.

Requesting "close to a bus stop" will be better for you FIL than "close to HH". He will do far less walking if you are close to a bus stop, since all buses stop at HH before leaving the resort. If you are in the HH catagory, you could have to walk just as far to get to HH as you would to any bus stop from anywhere in the resort. I assume he is going to the parks and will likely have some means of getting around there, like a rental ECV or wheelchair.

Yes, we'll have a wheelchair at the parks, and he will be using a cane for any walking that he has to do.

Thanks for the input - I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to stay in a villa I can hardly stand it!

I would suggest you rent an ECV from one of the Orlando companies that will bring it right to the resort. We needed to do this a couple of times at OKW, and they will have it waiting for you right in Papa's Den when you check in. If you have a ground floor reserved (for your FIL), he will be able to drive it right in and plug it in, and it is VERY easy to load on the buses.

if you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, in post # 2, you will find a list of companies that rent ECVs and wheelchairs.
