Ok, following the theme of the day, what's the best musical concert you've seen?

For me, my best list has to include Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Santana and Robert Plant/Jimmy Page. All great shows.

I'm old, but from what I remember......Woodstock!
(how's that for a concert!!)

Motley Crue!!! I've seen them 11 times over the years and I can't wait until the reunion tour in 2005!!

 They say if you remember Woodstock, you weren't there! LOL!

My best concert ever? Creed - Human Clay tour, actually the Weathered tour was good too. Too bad they couldn't keep it together. :(

That's why I said....From what I can remember....most of those days are a Little foggy....if you know what I mean!!! LOL:rolleyes:

Hmmm....My top 5:

1 - Garth Brooks - More fun than any other two concerts combined.
2 - Bon Jovi / Skid Row - Bon Jovi was awsome, and Skid Row was still up and coming.
3 - Ozzy / ? (I want to say Bon Jovi, but can't remember) - This was the Blizzard of Oz tour before Randy Rhodes died.
4 - Motley Crue / Faster Pussycat - Just a lot of fun...and seriously loud.
5 - Great White / Ratt - The music was just so-so, but I met my wife that night, so I gotta include it :)

Meat Loaf - Back into Hell tour 91/92... no seating, small club, and we were standing next to the stage. :)

I can remember seeing Bonnie Raitt,BB King and the Allman Brothers band (one of my favorites) back in 1979 at UMASS Amherst. Alumni Stadium. Wow. I was just 18 at the time.
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn 3 times. He is the best guitarist I have ever seen in my opinion. Seeing him live was incredible. Elton John was great live too.
I actually saw the Allman brothers 20 years in a row before I missed a show. Pretty good streak eh? I'm missing them this August because I will be at Disney. Oh well.

Nowaday's I love the "Rippington's of course.(my user name) They are a contemporary jazz band. (smooth jazz) I guess I'm mellowing out in my old age of 42. Hahahhahaha
You can listen to some of their music on their website which is:
www.rippingtons.com (they are excellent):)

Though my DH and I were just about the only people under 40 there, I loved the Celine Dion concert I dragged him to while we were still dating (this was a tour, not her Vegas show). She really does have a wonderful voice, and the show was really entertaining.

The best ever was Elton John, the year I am guessing was about 1990. I went with my best friend who was in the early stages of full blown Aids. Sadly, the protease drugs did nothing to help keep his disease at bay, and he was slowly dying. Very sad for me to remember.

Anyway, we went to this Elton John concert expecting the worst -- it was raining pretty hard and it was at an outdoor pavillion, and we had lawn seats. We decided to make the best of it, and bought some hefty trash bags before we went in, and just put those over our heads. I'll never forget that concert, it was beyond electrifying. His version of Funeral for A Friend (so poignant considering who I was there with) was the best song I have ever heard anyone perform, anytime, anywhere.

I treasure the memories I have of that concert. Sometimes I start to forget bits of it, so I have to make myself remember. Its my last and final link to my friend.

A few years ago I was able to see Mark Mitchum in concert. He is a deaf Christian singer, performer and was awesome.

I've also enjoyed the Vienna Boys Choir several times over the years. The first time was at age 10 in Vienna. What an experience.

Showing my age here but when I was a kid I got to see Satchmo in concert. Never forget that.

Have to list more than one..sorry!

Sting - saw him 2 years ago and he was awesome!
Janet Jackson - I have loved her since I was young! Saw her 1 year ago.
Creed - Human Clay tour

I wish I had seen Meatloaf back then. I saw him last yr, he is by far my fav, but he couldn't sing like he could back then, it it was still a thrill to see him. Now he is retired, so I will never get to see him again.

But by far the best performance I have seen was Jimmy Buffett (5 times) and each show was better then the one before!

Genesis, Paul McCartney (7th row center at the Old Cleveland Browns stadium...MIRIP) Little Feat, played with the Allman Bros which was worst concert, and Todd Rundrgen at Nautilus, up close and personal. Loved anyone seen at Blossum, because it is just a fun place to go!

(FTR, the P. M. tickets were purchased by my DH for us all before I had met him...offered first born child for good tickets! It worked out well all the way around!)

Hootie and the Blowfish

Dave Mathews

Eric Clapton

Jackson Browne

Jimmy Buffet

But my all time favorite single preformance by a band was Crosby and Nash when just the two of them toured together years ago. It's a concert I've never forgotten! :)

Eric Clapton - 1990 tour

Elton John - 1990 tour

Tina Turner- wow was she great! the energy level on her was just amazing!

A few come to mind...

Rolling Stones, Rich Stadium in Buffalo - along with The Outlaws, Bobby Blue Bland, Billy Preston, and a host of others. The Stones opened the show with Jumping Jack Flash with Mick on top of the speaker wall, waving his scarf. I think that was circa 1975.

The best rock and roll show I've ever seen was a pairing of Foghat and Bad Company. No lights, no fireworks, just heads down rock and roll. Again, in the mid 70's.

The Pat Metheny Group and the Landmark Theater here in town just a couple of years ago. The level of talent that every member of the group brought to the show was absolutely incredible. The trumpet player had an echo gizmo and actually played a duet with himself. Very, very cool concert.

The most bizarre concert that I've been to was the Sex Pistols final show in San Francisco. There were something like a dozen bands that played before the Pistols took the stage and they were uniformly awful (I think that was the point for most of them), but the Sex Pistols did generate a goodly amount of heat and tension.

Besides Bon Jovi (who were, are and always will be my favorite everything), Billy Joel - 1st Row, Madison Square Garden, River of Dreams tour. What an amazing show.

dizneegirl - I saw Meatloaf on the same tour, he was AWESOME. I couldn't believe the energy he had.

wvrevy - you have great taste in music :D I still love my 80's rock.
