I know this has probly been asked a million times but I will ask again. What is the best moderate hotel? Myself, my Dh, and our two young boys who will be 5 and 2 at the time were really hoping to stay in SOG but they are booked :sad2: so we have gotten pretty good rates at the moderate but I have no idea which one. I was hoping the expects on Disney boards could help me. :cool1:
Thank You So Much,
Megan

We have always loved POFQ. It is compact, exceptionally well themed and a very pleasant place to stay. We like POR, too, but it is a really large resort. FQ has a great pool area and the foodcourt is really cool. Love those cute street names! It would be my choice.

THE PROS
No sharing bus service with other resorts
Centrally located with short rides to the parks
Largest hot tub on WDW property
Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool
3 quiet pools
New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages
High speed internet service
WiFi available too
Free use of the gym
Spa
Fridge in the room
Coffeemaker in the room
Iron and ironing board
full room service menu
2 arcades
beautifully landscaped
central air, not a noisey wall unit

THE CONS
Full size beds (kings size beds are available)
one sink

IN THE MIDDLE
The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

Buzz,
Your CSR website is awesome, I just changed from CBR to CSR today, as a surprise for Dh's bday, I am even more excited after looking at your site

Thanks

Buzz.....

You have an AWESOME site! I am planning on taking my family back to WDW July 2006 and I believe that I will also be going to CSR instead of POR.

:earsgirl: :earsboy: princess:

1979 Contemporary
1992 Off site
1994 POR
2003 POR
"2006" Hopefully .....CSR

I have stayed only at POFQ and POR and LOVE the POR! We have 5 in our family and stayed last year in the Alligator Bayou. Yes it is somewhat spread out but it's beautiful. We had no trouble whatsoever w/transportation services, the food in the courtyard was always good and mousekeeping was great. However, my brother and his family stayed at the Caribbean Beach 2 yrs ago and enjoyed it as well. After looking at Buzz's sight for CSR, I wish I could get a room for 5 there! Great job Buzz!! :teeth:

Buzz2001, your site is fantastic!

My family of 5 stayed in Building 2 of the Casitas over Memorial Weekend. After 8 days at AKL, I did not expect to be impressed by CSR. Boy was I wrong! We all LOVED everything about this resort. It truly does have the feel of a deluxe resort. With 2 young children and one teenager, either dh or I sometimes end up staying in the room with sleeping youngsters while the others go off and play. Having room service is a godsend. And the room service here seemed so inexpensive after AKL's! I have not stayed stayed at POR yet, so I cannot compare CSR with it. I have visited CBR and feel that CSR is far, far nicer. However, we all have our preferences; and I'm sure others out there will say the exact opposite! Truly, I don't think you can go wrong at a Disney resort.

When I started my website it was only to show guests that CSR was a viable option. When I started coming to this site back in 1998, CSR used to get bashed on these boards. CSR has come along way to gain a good following of guests who now love it as much as I do. I only use the site to show CSR's beauty and let guests make up their own mind. I don't like to bash other resorts like some posters here feel they need to do. All the resorts have their following of guests and that's what makes WDW a great place to visit.

Thank you for all your responses. It looks like it is between CSR and POFQ. I will have to go back and look over these 2 and make a choice. Thank You very much. :earsboy:

I've heard wonderful things about Coronado and not so good things about Carribbean Beach. POR was a nice stay (business trip).

Our vote would be for CSR. Love the grounds, bus service (not being shared with other resorts), the pools...everything!

I have always preferred POFQ over POR until our recent trip. We returned this morning from POFQ and I hate to say it but I was dissapointed. Housekeeping was not as it has been in the past and when I called to the front desk, the lady was rude and seemed to be bothered by my call. I have always loved disney and have never expected special treatment, neither have I ever been treated this way nor have I been so surprised by mousekeeping. By the way, there were three other families with us and two of them each brought up the fact of the housekeeping not knowing how I already felt about it.

It's not fair of me to compare the resorts since I have only stayed at POFQ but I will say that we love it there. We stayed there last year and decided to go back this year. I have children about the same age and they loved the dragon slide. Plus the resort is nice and small so getting from place to place with the kids is really easy no matter what building you are in.

I'm sure they are all nice and have their perks but I definately give a vote for POFQ. :flower:
