In your opinion, which is the BEST Disney World Moderate Resort? If you could, please ellaborate on why you feel it's the best!! Thanks!

I LOVE Port Orleans. I love the theming and the size. I love that I was able to walk around and explore and feel like we were in another world. We had our engagement pictures taken then, and our family and friends were shocked that they were taken at a Disney World resort!! It was beyond magical.

I very much dislike CSR and CBR. Both are very large to me. CSR feels like a convention hotel and lacks the Disney magic for me. Although the pool is cool, but I was disappointed. The way everyone raves about the pool - I had expected more. I personally don't like the theming of CBR and feel like it is even bigger than CSR. I feel like parts of CBR were forced and it just doesn't seem "natural." My best friend LOVES CBR though. I know it is all personal opinion.

And in defense I say I very much dislike... it means compared to other Disney resorts. I'd stay at CBR or CSR over generic hotels, etc. I hope that makes sense.

POR and POFQ are our favorite Mod resorts followed closely by CSR and then CBR. The reason is because they just offer more for our family and the themeing is great. You have the boat to DTD which is a GREAT extra, piano Bob for some fun family entertainment, carriage ride, surrey bike and boat rentals, plus you can use both resorts amenities. We think POR has the best FC with an omelet station in the morning and then the salad and pasta bar for lunch and dinners. We also like the fact that they have 2 sinks versus CSR's one, with 2 little DD's it helps a lot:)
POFQ is great becasue of the size of the resort, no room is really far from the pool or main building. Another bonus is that during the times that they share buses with POR, they get picked up AND dropped off first. If we are staying at POR and when we leave the park we will take a POFQ bus, pick up some beinets and walk or take the boat over to POR.
We also like CSR, they have a great pool and child play area together which makes it nice and a great pool slide. I think they have a bit better bus service, but we usually get very good bus service from each. CSR just does not offer the extra family activities like bike or boat rentals and there is no family entertainment. CSR seems more geared toward adults with a night club, SPA and exercise area. POR and CSR are pretty much the same size with CBR being the biggest. Hope this helps.

I liked Caribbean Beach, it feels huge which can be a turnoff to some. It also had very very poor cell phone reception for me in building 32. Which could be a good or bad thing, it let me "accidentally" miss calls from people :lmao:

I haven't stayed in any of the other ones expect Port Orleans when I was a kid and I don't remember liking it, but that doesn't mean it was bad.

I voted for Riverside but CSR is an extremely close second and CBR is an extremely close third! I also love POFQ but don't like that it has only one pool (although you can use the pools at POR).

What we love about POR is the theming, lush grounds, food court, boat to DTD and the pools. It just feels like a vacation all by itself.

We really like CBR, we have stayed here 4 times. It is a large resort but walking doesnt bother us. We love the Caribbean feel, music, landscaping, beaches w/ hammocks, the main pool area is awesome, nice gift shop. The kiddie pool area is so cute, its a pirate ship with water slides and dumping buckets our daughter loves. The rooms have always been clean and well kept throughout our stay, customer service people are all friendly and helpful.:rotfl:

I am a big fan of POR.

I like the theme, the gounds are award winning, there are wooded paths and nice places to take pictures. The food court is great and clean.

My favorite part is the boat ride to DTD. It caps off a nice day at the park with a nice ride at night to DTD.

I like the pathway to POFQ. The carraige ride at night between the two is a nice romantic trip.

I prefer the Aligator Bayou area, near a quite pool.

I love the compact size of the French Quarter and the landscaping is gorgeous  The boat to DownTown is an added perk :yay: Now that all the rooms have been refurbished and include queen size beds, it would be even better :woohoo:

This is a really tough question. I've stayed at all the moderates and am going back to POR in March because we will have a party of 5 and we want queen beds without the deluxe price tag. Each resort has things that make them appealing and unique.
CBR~ Super fun decor. Bright and cheery. Beautiful grounds and pool. Nice food court. Fun rooms. It's a large resort but if you are somewhat close to the main building and pool, it's not a big deal.

POFQ~very quaint. Beautiful grounds. Rooms are cozy. Love the small size of the resort. Love the ride to DTD on the watertaxi. Not our favorite food court, but it offers enough. Kids loved the pool!!!!

POR~Mansions~Nice room. Beautiful grounds. Love the river and the beautiful walk to the main building. Watertaxi to DTD a plus (again). Good food court.

CSR~beautiful resort. Most deluxe feel to all the moderates. Love that the pool is away from the main building. Love that the pool offers snacks and drinks. Nice room decor. Good food court.

If I had to pick, for me it's CSR, kids CBR, hubby is undecided!!

They all have the basics, it comes down to a matter of your taste!! Just being at Disney make them all great!:thumbsup2

We really like CSR. It is very large but if you can get a room in the area of your choice or willing to do a preferred room it is AMAZING resort. The theme and lake are so pretty. Fountains are placed throughout the grounds and the pool is very cool. It has one of the better playgrounds on site.
The restaurants are very good. Pepper Market at least for now is a counter service credit for a buffet lunch or breakfast on the DDP, an great deal.

It is slated as a convention resort and so the occupancy ebbs and flows and it can be a good place to get a good last minute deal.

CSR! Very comfortable queen beds, great bus service, one of the best pools on property (in any category), and some other amenities that set it apart from the other mods - a fitness center, small spa, room service, and separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the combo stuff at the values and other mods. The sliding wooden doors are a great improvement over the privacy curtains at the vanities.

We've stayed at CSR, CBR, and POFQ (visited POR)

out of all, PO is our fav! with smaller kids, we loved POFQ. when they get bigger, we will probably move to POR. The smaller size of the resort was nice after spending hours walking around parks.

Haven't been to POR yet, but so far POFQ is absolutely my fav. Possibly my fav Disney resort, actually. For the price, the small size of the resort, the newly refurbed rooms, beautiful landscaping, and boat to DTD, you can't beat it!

POR-the look, feel, pool, style of rooms, grounds, paddlewheel,foodcourt,fishing,docks,...the only dislike is the buses going all the way around to get to front and drops, but you get that at other mod and deluxe as well.

I really think that you can't go wrong with any of the resorts. You have to pick what theme appeals to you and your family. I have only stayed at POR and CSR and out of the two I prefer POR, BUT I think CSR is wonderful. I would LOVE to stay at CBR but we are now a family of five and that won't work for us. POFQ is so quaint and small, and easy to get around. They all are unique really.

Good luck deciding.

The best moderate resort is Caribbean Beach - hands down. The theming is tropical, relaxing and beautiful. The pool is awesome and my kids love it. The food court has tons of variety and is easily accessible. The rooms are large, clean and comfy. This is our favorite resort and we will be staying there for the third time in August.

POFQ

Botom line:
:goodvibes Small size of resort
:goodvibes 1st bus stop before POR
:goodvibes Boat to DTD

Other than the above, we rate all the other aspects of the moderates the same.
