Best Memories of DLRP??

Don't have any 'specific' ones as such but on our 1st trip, I think it has to be watching the parade for the very 1st time on that afternoon we arrived and also when we had dinner at Cafe Mickey the next day. We were walking back to the hotel at about 5-ish to freshen up before dinner and we walked past Cafe Mickey and saw the characters milling about outside (they had another smaller door on the side which opened onto the 'main' road which was roped off - think that bit was 'boarded'/covered up when we went a couple of months ago). So stopped to take pics of them etc. We hadn't even planned on going there for dinner and we had no idea it was character interaction etc. (I knew about this forum before then but never really read through the threads thoroughly). Anyway, we thought we'd go there for dinner and luckily, we got a table. After we had ordered our food, we fed my DS (who was on baby jar food then).... and next thing we knew, Pinocchio arrived at our table, then Gepetto... then Mickey !!! Such a nice surprise and I was very excited (nevermind the kids lol).

On our recent trip, I think it had to be the excitement on the kids' faces when we watched the parade. DS was just sooo excited when he saw Mickey & Minnie on the float. And again, Cafe Mickey. DS was really chuffed to see Mickey and the interaction he had with Mickey was great. Ohhh and he loved Suzy & Perla at Auberge - the hugs he gave them. DD loved Cinderella. And the way both of them ran up to Pooh Bear to give him a hug.

Ahh too many to mention really. Both trips were just full of memories, esp now looking back at the pics again.

sorry but it has to be my wife and daughter (then 10) sitting on a bench after going on space mountain for the first time. absolutely priceless.

My very best memory of DLRP would be back in 1992 when my Dad was part of the 'Opening Crew' (he helped with the design and building of the Teacups Ride)

As part of the crew my Dad was allowed to take guests in before the park actually opened to the public, we effectivly had the run of the park between about 400 people! It was awesome!

Great post ......

One of my favs was last year..... we had queued for 1 hour 15mins to see the princesses, my daughter loves Sleeping Beauty. The wait was so worth while as her face was a picture when she met Sleeping Beauty and Prince Philip, she was in awe, it was magical :cloud9:

I can't think of a single magic moment, every time i walk thourgh the main gate i feel i am into the magic :wizard:

Me too!! I remember the first time I went to DLRP. I have to admit that I was one of these awful people who would slate DLRP and would only go to WDW, the "proper" Disney. ;) Wild horses wouldn't have dragged me to DLRP. :scared1: I had already discovered the DIS before WDW then a friend arranged a trip to DLRP and asked me to research it for her. I got friendly with other DISers on here and before I knew it I had not only bought shares but had two trips booked but I was still SOOOOOOOO scared that I wouldn't feel the magic. Well, we arrived at DLRP in pouring rain and met a huge gaggle of yellow ponchos walking towards us. We walked through them, entered the park and drank in our first sight of the castle as the rain stopped and the sun came out. Oh yes, I am in heaven and the feeling is still there every time I return to DLRP. The Disney Magic is there for me every time. :cloud9:

I have a future event which I hope will become a special memory! In October when we check into the Disneyland Hotel with my parents for their 1st ever Disney experience for their 40th wedding anniversary.

Hi Danauk I tried to email you the ~PPS but your mailbox is apparantly full?? do you have another address at all? or a home one then I can post you the CD!

Asides loads of fave memories the first year I went with my hubby in 2005 and it was the start of the xmas season, we had no idea that it would be xmas and were totally blown away then we got to see the first enchanted fairytale ceremony of the season-having spent the entire day speculating about the wires on the castle we finally got to see what it was the wires were there for, that and the snow and the whole atmosphere i spent more time in tears than anything that day!!!!

Second fave memory is taking my M&D for their 40th anniversary the following xmas season and mum bursting into tears when we walked into the SL because it was all so christmassy and magical

my what a soppy family we are!!!!

What a fabulous photo ~ says it all, doesn't it! :goodvibes

Thought I'd bump this thread up ~ it's lovely reading everyone's fave memories.

I think mine has to be last year when i finally got a pic with mickey mouse. Last year was my 3rd visit to disney and i had never managed to get a picture with mickey. We were cutting through one of the arcades on main street and when we came out of it mickey was there and there was only one other person waiting for a picture with him so i finally got to meet the mouse lol it made my holiday!!!

Aww, lovely picture! I hope I see mickey! But like you, I wont be lining up for it as its not fair on the kiddies..

I think Torsie might mean that she wants to let the kids see Mickey in the park, but then maybe see him at a character meal or something??

Bob xoxox

Yeah, I'm hoping to see him in Cafe Mickey or in my hotel as I know the lines in the park can get big..and I think I'll be pushed for time anyway.

Thank you :goodvibes i ended up getting 2 pics with mickey last year coz i had dinner in cafe mickey for the first time and he was there as well!

Watching Kyra and Minnie dance in Cafe Mickey was one of the highlights of out first ever Disney trip :)
