The theme for my upcoming Disney World trip is "All New"! My daughter and I are only eating at places we've never eaten at before. We are staying at PO FQ, a resort we have yet to visit... We are doing the Garden Show for the first time...

So, should we reconsider any of our meal choices??? :confused3 Please vote for your favorites, but also tell us if we should avoid any.

coral reef - we've done lunch, first seating, when it's still quiet and not crowded - very cool break from the heat, soothing to watch the fishies swim by in the tank....

Wow - what a neat "theme" for a WDW trip!!! :woohoo: Sounds like something I would like but then I'd have to do without my favorite places.

We tried Jiko last fall - me, DH, DS, DDIL, and 2 small DGDs (6 mos. and 2-1/2). We were early and not dressed up, but they were completely gracious and accommodating. If you want to include new kinds of food/menu in your theme, this place has some of everything - all kinds of meat and seafood, and interesting combinations and sauces/sides! The CM who served us also had a specific wine to recommend with one of the specials for that night and it went beautifully with it I thought!

I almost voted for Artist Point, though - because it is one of our all-time favorites - we love the buffalo steak, so TENDER! Similar to beef, but a little "sweeter" <-- as close as I can get to describing the difference.

Hope you get lots of replies - and ENJOY!!

You MUST do Boatwright's esp. if you're staying right next door at FQ! We didn't have breakfast there, but our dinner was the best we had all week (food was absolutely fantastic) and every morning when we'd head out (we were at POR) there was always a line for breakfast - quite busy! (make sure to make your ADR if you choose this option!). Just a really great place to eat.:thumbsup2

It was a tossup between Artists Point and Jiko for me, but I gave the nod to AP, just because the rest of my family likes it more.

But you're gonna have a great lunch at Raglan Road. It's a shame there's no entertainment except at dinner. My very favorite dessert in all of WDW is there. Ah, glory.

Do tell - what is your favorite dessert? Since this is our last meal before heading to the airport, I have to splurge one last time!

How old is your daughter?

My wonderful daughter is 25!! She is a seasonal castmember (she did the College Program back when she was 19) and she goes back and works a few days each year to keep the feeling alive! I love hanging in Disney World with her!

For me it was difficult to decide between Jiko and Ragland Road. I had to go with Ragland Road since you put you are going at lunch instead of dinner. I wouldn't want to end up there for dinner with the entertainment. It sounds like it'd be really loud, and I really dislike really loud. But the bread pudding there is to die for. :) Jiko is also super fantastic though :)

Coral Reef is awesome, but my vote went to Artist Point, this is one of my favorites, the food is fabulous!

I voted for Jiko! It's a great place for adults and I love the wine selection there :). My second choice would be Flying Fish and then Coral Reef, but just for the atmosphere. The food is only so-so.

I voted for Jiko because I love it there. The pistachio creme brulee still makes me have nice dreams. I was going to go this June but I am not sure my daughter who is 8 would like it. I have an ADR there but I may cancel it.

Artist's Point looks wonderful-we didn't choose it (yet) as my girls are still younger & picky eaters (7 & 10 yrs old).

I chose Artist Point. We were there last week and it was really good. The pork chop that I had was the best I has ever tasted! We also did Coral Reef, it was good, but not great! We also stayed at POFQ! You will love this resort.:)

Boatwrights breakfast is the only place we ate at from your list. That said, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good their breakfast was! I had the potato pancakes w/maple pecan butter and it was SOOO delicious! We sat next to the "fireplace" which was nice since being from Hawaii we generally don't have them here.

Jiko or Flying Fish! Both are WONDERFUL:thumbsup2 !

Jiko has an awesome wine list (I read somewhere that a very high percentage of their wait staff are sommeliers (sp?)) and absolutely delicious food. AKL is beautiful at night. IMHO, Jiko also has the best kids menu at Disney.

Flying Fish is consistently good gourmet fare and we've never had a bad meal there. Wonderful desserts. The Boardwalk is a blast at night - entertainers, music, face painting.

I would highly recommend BOTH if you can squeeze them in!:goodvibes
