Best mac and cheese in disney?

I suppose I'm a purist. Mac and cheese should be, well, macaroni and cheese. Once you start adding seafood to it, it becomes tuna noodle casserole. It doesn't help lobster, etc. aren't kosher and hence off my list, nor would I eat it with meat. (No, I've never had a cheeseburger.)

For me, it's all about the cheese. I've tightened my requirements in recent years and won't buy cheese with animal rennet for home use, but still, a trip to Whole Foods can turn up some wonderful flavors.

Is the availability of mac & cheese in the UK regional? I was surprised you don't get to have it much since you're from England, so I looked it up, and what I found says its origins are from the UK. Or is it different from what we generally have in the US?

Anyway, now I might need to go make some (I always make homemade - relatively easy, and SO much better than any box or frozen kinds).

Doesn't Jiko have some good mac & cheese?

I was surprised at that too as we are from the UK and I have always made Mac and Cheese. We also had it as kids as my mum also made it.

We found the best Mac and Cheese was at the Boathouse.

We also had fab mac and cheese at Smokey bones offsite.

However, I found the lobster mac and cheese at Narcooses very dry and didn't like it

I meant that I don't get to have it in restaurants :) smokey bones sounds like an interesting place! Where abouts is it?

Yachtsman...can't describe! A mac & cheese lover's Nirvana!

Wolf Gang Puck Express and Chefs de France also scrumptious.

I am sure many of you would say the same thing, but my Mom makes the best mac and cheese in the world. Simple, traditional, creamy mac and cheese.

So, anytime I get mac elsewhere, I am looking for something much different than my mom's, not similar. Usually a more baked and/or gratin style mac. With a little bit of a bite. More cheese than cream. Or, maybe a creamy style, but with different cheeses or pastas. Even if I have a macaroni and cheese close to my mom's...even if it tastes good, it still feels like, "Well, my mom does this and better." I want something different.

WPE's mac was very good. Was it the BEST non-mom macaroni I've ever had? Probably not, but it's way up there. I'd love to try the Friar's Nook versions. And, I think Chefs de France would be my ultimate goal, but I just don't want to waste park time for a sit down meal, when really, all I want is the mac and cheese.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE mac & cheese, but I'm kind of a purist. The macs I've had in MK are a little too artificial cheese for my tastes, and while I've had the truffle mac at Yachtsman, I wouldn't consider that a traditional mac and cheese. I feel like it focuses more on the truffle and less on a proper blend and balance of cheese.

While it needed some salt, the mac at Art Smith's Homecoming is the closest thing to proper baked mac and cheese I've had anywhere at WDW.

Flying fish had probably the best mac and cheese i've ever had. truffle mac and cheese. not sure if it will be on the menu after the redesign.

I won't even touch it again at any Disney Quick Serve or Liberty Tree Tavern ... so far. They are all more the frozen/box version which I won't eat. I make it from scratch at home so I want it made with fresh cheese.

I agree HOB has an excellent one - have gotten several times with lobster.

For those people saying that they can't get it in their home countries, why not make it from scratch. All the ingredients are pantry staples...Pasta, butter, flour, milk, cheese?

Besides the ones mentioned at the Yachtsman, Flying Fish and Narcoossee's, the Maine Lobster & 5 Cheese Mac at the Boathouse.

This was one of the options I was strongly considering for my adr at the boathouse, I was stuck choosing between this, the Maine lobster roll or the lump crab cake. I think this may have swung it :)

You need to move, loads of places round here sell it. Its usually a staple in pubs round here. Especially for kids.

Following this though as I love Mac and cheese. Although that Kraft stuff is horrid lol

Another vote here for:
Friar's Nook pot roast Mac
Trail's End Mac
Earl of Sandwich Mac

Ps having velveeta shells n cheese for supper!

Another Mac and Cheese lover here! I've tried several different types around property and my top favourites are:

Narcoossee's - their Lobster Mac and Cheese is incredible!
Yachtmans Steakhouse - the Truffle Mac and Cheese is to die for!
Wolfgang Pucks - the four cheese Mac and Cheese is wonderful!

Does Art of Animation have mac & cheese?

I do love the chicken parmesan with noodles alfredo on the side at Pop - think you can get it with a cheddar sauce instead of the alfredo though. Super decadent.
