I just got my Nook 2 yesterday. I'm all set up and ready to read. I remember reading here a while ago about Libraries Nook readers can join to borrow books. Last I heard the library in my small town doesn't have this feature yet.

I would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Not a library--but you should be able to download older books without charge from the Gutenberg project (not sure my spelling is good this a.m.--DH up very early looking at the meteor shower). I have a Kobo and used that site to download some Arthur Conan Doyle titles, also Stephen Leacock.

I have a Nook Color and get alot of my books from freebookspot dot com They usually have most of the ones I am looking for.

Since you appear to have a New York address - NYPL has one of the largest collections in the country and cards are available to anybody who lives/works/attends school in New York. I'm not sure how you apply but give them a call.

Free Library of Philadelphia offers non-resident cards for $35 a year and you can print off an application online and mail it in.

Thanks for the info, I think the Philadelphia Library is what I was remembering. I'll check out the NYPL also Thanks.

Check the-cheap dot net for great deals, too.

I use the Philadelphia Free Library a lot, it's a great value.

See if your local library is part of a shared network. I too live in a smaller town, and our library is in the Clevnet. It shares with and can borrow from all Cleveland area libraries for books and e-books.

Ours lets you check out up to 20 e-books at a time.

Love my Nook! I can now pack only one book on vacation!:love:

I borrow books for my nook through my local library. They are part of the Live-brary network. It is super easy, and they also have a wait list for books and email you when they come in. I was able to request for them to purchase a title and got an email 3 days later that it was ordered and added to the collection within a week!
