Best Italian restaurant?

Wow - thanks for the suggestions everyone! This really helps.

We hadn't even considered Il Mulino before but taking a look now the menu and restaurant looks great, and with so many recommendations we can't go wrong, right? :D

It seems like overall there are lots of good choices though, so we may even splurge and visit more than one! :-)

Another Il Mulino vote. It is quiet and relaxing. We usually stay at the Swan and try to eat there on our arrival day. It's just a nice end to a long day of travel and a great beginning for a magical vacation.

Il Mulino is the nicest but Via Napoli is really good and much cheaper. You will have to go into this with the proper expectations though. Il Mulino on it's best day will not compare to a great local Italian place if you live in a city with a historical Italian influence. I can rattle off 5 places that cost less and are more authentic at home. That isn't to say it is bad, just don't go in looking for a replacement for the little Italian hole in the wall you love at home.

It's been a couple years, but the only Italian place we've dined at was Via Napoli and we were very disappointed. Definitely not what I'd consider good Italian food. It may have improved since then though.

Il Mulino doesn't accept the dining plan, if that's a concern. If it's not, it's the best Italian you can get on property. The other options will be mediocre for anyone who's used to authentic Italian foods. Disney has several Italian restaurants, likely because it's cheap and easy to mass produce. My second choice would be Tutto, or Via Napoli if you're leaning more towards pizza.

Il Mulino in the Swan. Throughout September, it is participating in Orlando's Magical Dining Month. $35 for three courses.

Hope this link to the menu works: http://www.visitorlando.com/magical...-Mulino-New-York-Trattoria/30471/#magicalmenu

This place is as authentic Italian as it gets in Disney.

Absolutely agree, we do love Via Napoli too but for really good Italian this would be my recommendation as well especially with this promotion!

IL MULINO REVIEW WITH PHOTOS

Been to 4 ...
Via Napoli in Nov 2014...was disappointed. Service stunk and food was so-so.
Mama Melrose in Aug 2014...was pretty good. Not super authentic but more like Olive Garden. But we enjoyed it.
Tony's in Oct 2015...was awful. Thought the food was considerably worse than at MM. Service was okay, slow and oddly chatty server. Didn't get refills or asked for dessert either.
Trattoria Al Forno in May 2017...was THE best. Great service and the food was sooo soooo good. And, FYI, they will custom make some thing that aren't on menu (like Fettucine alfredo).
