We want to take the kids out for ice cream one afternoon - where are all the ice cream shops? - not just soft serve cones, becuase we want SUNDAES!!!! Big honkin' calorie laden, brain freeze sundaes with the works!!! :thumbsup2 Which are the best that offer ambiance and a great scoop (or two or three or four??) Thanks! :)

I think you want Beaches & Cream (at the Beach Club resort).

They don't take ADRs and the dining room is itty bitty. You may want to do some research as to the best time to get there, because the waits can be very very long. They have a carryout but I don't know if you can carry out any of the big sundaes.

There is also a Ghirardelli's at Downtown Disney.

Beaches and Cream at the beach club resort. The absolute BEST. You have to order The No Way Jose or The Kitchen Sink. Another alternative is The Fountain at the Dolphin. But nothing compares to the beach club. ENJOY!

Beaches and Cream, omigod the No Way Jose is out of this world....reminds me of the Reese's sundae from Friendlys

Another suggestion for Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. Definitely the place to go for awesome sundaes.

Want to have fun with the kids, take them to Beaches and Cream for in ice cream lunch. We take our kids for the kitchen sink one day of our trip for lunch (no real food, just the ice cream). Not only is it fun to have ice cream for lunch, but the kitchen sink is the only way to go. We have a family tradition, we got there every visit and it is one of their most talked about parts of the trip!!! It's worth the wait...

The Plaza in MK is also a great ice cream stop, if you're in the mood while you're in a park. If you're in Epcot, the Fountainview Cafe is now an ice cream shop, with cones and sundaes (I miss the pastries there though). The Prime Time Cafe at DHS has some good sundaes on the dessert menu as well.

If I'm outside the parks, Beaches and Cream is usually my first pick, followed by the Dolphin Fountain and then Ghirardelli's at DTD.

Beaches and Cream (partly why I am staying at the Beach club next year :lmao: ) and Ghirardelli's, but I won't be eating the no way jose its got peanut butter (yuck)

Wow - there is a bit of selection then - I was thinking that the only Ice Cream Palors were Giridelli (Sp?) and B&C, but figured that couldn't be right!

If I want to get sundaes (not takeout) at the Plaza, will I need an ADR, or is there a counter area somewhere that I've missed? Also, can you tell me a bit more about the Dolphin Fountain (I'm assuming this is at the Dolphin Hotel)?

Thanks all!!!:)

Just thought I'd add these for visual effect to all this ice cream chatter. :)

The Plaza has an ice cream only area right on Main St and you can sit at outside tables. The only drawback (IMO) is that they serve Edy's ice cream. I much prefer Ghirardelli's (especially for chocolate ice cream) or B&C.

Ice Cream is always a must for any WDW trip. We normally do that at least twice while we are there!

:worship::worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: OMG the kitchen sink looks like glorious gluttony and the No Way Jose looks like a massive Reese Pieces Sundae from Friendlies!!!(without the pieces:thumbsup2 )

I'm glad you mentioned that The Plaza serves Edy's which = boring!!! I can get a half gallon of that for $2.50 at the market. Gimme something better than that! (and slather it in warm peaunut butter and hot fudge!) LOL.

Anyone have photos of the complete menu at B&C or Ghiraidellis?
Thanks all!:)

&C also serves Edy's. Ghiradelli's isn't that much better - quite honestly - but I don't think its Edy's. I think its a little better than B&C, but I'd rather just have GOOD ice cream in my hometown. There is no small batch homemade ice cream shops in Disney.

Oh no! :faint: There's no heavy dense ice cream on property? (Think Godiva or Haggen Daz) My kids wouldn't care, but I adore the ultra premium stuff - I'm suprised to hear that Giradellis doesn't have a higher quality product...ah well...I'll suffer thru...:rotfl:

There is a Haagen Dazs shop at Downtown Disney (West Side). Don't ask me if they serve sundaes, I have no idea.

used to be, if you signed up at ghirardellis.com, they'd send you a coupon for a bogo sundae or half off- we used ours on that enormous concoction.

maybe they still do that? you want to live in fl and have your bday coming soon....

Fuzzy, but maybe you can make out some of it.
