Best ice cream in the parks?

Where to find the best ice cream and hopefully near a place with an option to sit down and enjoy it.

I’ll pay any price for cake & ice cream with a view of the Castle and air conditioning.

Not Main Street on MK, rather the Plaza Restaurant sundae is good. In EP go to the France pavilion. In AK there is a soft serve ice cream truck outside of EE (don't know if it there currently with COVID restrictions). Not sure about DHS, maybe check out Hollywood Scoops?

But, heck, its ice cream. How bad can it really be?

I thought I didn’t like Dole Whips until I recently sat in the heat outside of Tiki Room and watched every child enjoying their Dole Whips with a view of Aladdins Magic Carpets.

There's a new gelato kiosk in Italy that's pretty good (not mind-blowing, but better than most of the stuff around the parks). Lots of benches over near the water to sit on to eat it.

MK: Dole Whip. But I do have a great memory of sitting on the curb at night with my family watching a parade sharing an ice cream sundae from the ice cream place on Main Street.

Epcot: France. Great choices!

HS: I have never gotten ice cream there.

AK: Dole whip with rum in it or a mickey bar. There is a burger and sundae bar that we haven't tried yet (closed right now).

Sadly, Ample Hills was always my favorite spot to do just this - great ice cream and a view of the BC/YC resort across the lake. But that's closed, so I think the gelato Kiosk in EPCOT is my second favorite!

I thought that Edys was the only ice cream you got at WDW. Wouldn't it be the same no matter which venue you went to?

There isn't any spectacular ice cream at WDW that I have found. However, my favorite place to enjoy it is Beaches & Cream because it was always a destination and something to look forward to. Dole whip isn't really very good (I know - flame me)...

Dole Whip is actually not ice cream and those who are lactose intolerant can safely eat it. (Dole sells the dry concentrate you can buy to make it at home). Had some last time at the Polynesian and it tastes more like sherbert to me, good but not spectacular. I do laugh at the all of the online copycat recipes that seem to be someone's impression of what it is actually made from.

Does Disney have different recipes for the ice cream served at their various park locations? Seems it would be hard to determine which is best if they are mostly made the same way. Honestly haven't had enough ice cream in the parks to make a comparison.

L'Artisan des Glaces in Epcot's France Pavilion. Haven't been in over 2 yrs but the WDW orlando dining website says its open. RIP Ample Hills.

The best ice cream to me at WDW is always a Mickey Premium Bar. And the best place to enjoy it is by the pool (if you're staying on property).

But beyond that...France in Epcot.

I know some places have Häagen-Dazs, like Dino-Bite Snacks. That's why we always went there for the cookie sandwiches.

Located diagonally from the Boathouse in DS, is Vivoli iI Gelato. I never mind the line or cost as it’s worth every bite.

L'artisan des glaces in France is really the only great ice cream left now that Ample Hills is gone. Dino-bites in AK is good for the ice cream sandwiches - they're huge (and easily shareable) and the cookies are always fresh.
