I just added an additional night at the Poly for us. Now we will be staying 5 nights All Star Movies and then 5 night Poly in June (YAY!!!) Anyway, for all of you who have stayed at the Poly, which building would you say has the best Garden View rooms. I don't really want a lot of noise. I know some buildings can be in the center of a lot of activity but if it is not really alot of screaming and the such I don;t really mind. We do howver want to be as close at possible to the Great Ceremonial House. So what do you all think? Thanks so much for your opinion.

Go for Tokelau. It has larger rooms and is close to the GCH and TTC as well as the beach and pools. You may get a view of the lagoon from your garden view room in Tokelau but you won't get the foot traffic like some of the longhouses over next to the GCH.

Ditto! We took Tikiman's advice last year and loved where we ended up. We were on the 2nd floor with a quiet pool view. We requested to see the lagoon (only a few rooms have this view), but we ended up seeing the pool. We were quite happy with our location! It's a beautiful place, where you really feel you're on vacation!

I agree we stayed at the Tokelau bldg twice. It was quiet and not far from anything.

The Tokalau (i think thats how you spell it) is really nice. I stayed there last April and had a great time!

I still like the north side of Aotearoa. Rooms there give you a "castle view" at the garden view price. Also, in the old days they used to reserve this building for guests without children - so it was quiet. (But they did meet our request for Aotearoa - back then Tahiti - not to be confused with the "new" Tahiti - which used to be "Hawaii", I think!!! - when we stayed there in 1994 with our then 16 month old. It was great to watch the Electrical Water Pageant right from the room. You will hear the drumming at the climax of the Luau though. Plus Aotearoa is just a short walk away from the GCH (and Captain Cook's!) Check out Tikiman's site for more info.

Tokelau is also fine. We stayed there last August. We liked everything about it except it was a longer walk to the GCH.

Have a great time!

I have to put my vote in for Figi. We had a view overlooking the marina on the 3rd floor. There was not much foot traffice outside the buidling. It was close to the GCH and the volcano pool. I found the view and building to be very peaceful.

We had a ground floor patio room in Rarotonga, which is adjacent to the GCH. It was a very convenient location. We had a partial view of the quiet pool (the rest was of privacy hedges.)

Every AM we were visited by the most adorable pair of ducks, my kids nicknamed them Pitter and Patter. There were also bunnies hopping about.

It's a great location, but I agree that Tokelau is just as nice, if not better.

Another emphatic vote for Tokelau. You are so close to everything, but feel "away from it all". Beautifully landscaped and quiet. Check out Tikiman's website. It's the best!!
