best functional souvenier?

My most used is pretty simple - a nice pen we picked up in the MK :earsboy: I have it in my shirt pocket everyday and always a nice reminder!

I bought a Princess jacket in 2004 and wear it constantly. It has a sweatshirt lining with a waterproof outer layer. Unless it drops way below freezing, it is warm enough to wear in the winter too.

I have a CZ / sterling silver Mickey icon that I never take off. I have the earrings too, but they are post and I prefer wires. I do wear them once in a while.

I also have the charm bracelet, although I need to get a new one. One of the rhinestones fell out of mine. :( Ill replace it next month and just move all my charms. Or maybe Ill just make a new one altogether. :thumbsup2

I would love to get a Day Planner type calendar...anyone know if the sell them? Or if they sell refills for standard books?

I would LOVE a Disney Day Planner....I am hoping when we go I will be able to find one.....I also WOULD LOVE a Disney address book as ours is ready to throw in the garbage......anyone ever see either of these two things?

My sister went to WDW in November and brought back my DD one of those washcloths that are strunken, and then when put into water, grows to normal size. She got her a Princesses one. Well... we went in December, and so I had to get more, I got one with Pooh and friends, one with Tinkerbell, one with Mickey. They were $3.00.

We love our magnets! We get them from each park and every resort that we stay at. My kids draw pictures of Disney (as a little plea to their Daddy) and use the magnets to stick them to the fridge!

yeah, epcot japan has some great stuff! i have a little candy dish that i bought there that i use often. plus their candy is delicious too :)

I agree - I love the ceramic bowls in Japan! They make great cereal/ice cream bowls. For those of you who are cat fans, they have several that have cat designs on them. They're very reasonably priced!

My DD12 Did the charm bracelet last time...She is looking forward to adding some new ones..she actually keeps it attached to her purse.

I personally am a big fan of wearing things that represent my kids birthstones, (earrings, etc..) our last trip I found little mickey mouse head birthstone charms for only $5 each :teeth: at a shop on Main Street that I put on a long gold chain I wear all the time.

We also enjoy the smoothies at Auntie Gravity and just the other day threw out the cup from the one we had last trip. (it held up for 2 years and finally broke when DS4 swung at it with a ball bat ) A yummy souvie that we remembered evertime we used that cup..LOL...Thankfully we are going back in Sept so we can get another cup..I mean smoothie...hehe

I just received a DVC luggage tag as a gift. It is a really durable, thick tag with the DVC logo...LOVE IT. I still have a Mickey Jeans jacket that I bought about 20 years ago. And a Mickey Fleece...yep 20 years for that too.

I've bought some new clothes...a Tink jeans jacket that I had monogrammed "DVC" from DisneyOnLine.

I have Xmas ornaments of course. And I just bought a friend's ankle biterdog a cinderella outfit...too cute!

I bought a package of 4 mini pen light flashlights that have key rings and they were under $10 for the package! Great deal and I think I bought them like 4 years ago (I was just there and they still have them) and I just changed out the battery on one of them! They each have a different picture of the theme parks on them and they're really cool!

Can you tell me which store these were bought ??
TIA

Are the Monorail magnets still being sold, and where? I believe they had been at Downtown Disney. Anyone?

I can't believe no one has mentioned Disney ties. I have about 12 of them. Everything from straight Goofy ties, to ensemble character ties. I got several from the Disney outlet store for about $4. They are great. I teach school and the kids love to see them.

Also second the comment about the free Bic pens with "Walt Disney World Resort" that you can get from the rooms or from any of the front desks or Guest Relation Desks. We still have about 12 of them floating around the house. You can also get them on Disney Cruise Line. I make sure I don't let anyone borrow those.

Where is the Disney outlet--my DH wears a tie every day (just learned how to tie them at 39 yo :confused3 ). $4.00 sounds great!

Don't expect to find all ties at $4 at the outlet - I think I hit on the clearance of the clearance, and it happened to be a tie I liked.

With that said, there are two official Disney outlets that I know of. There is one in Orlando in the outlet mall near the Catholic Shrine (Mary of the Universe or something like that). There is another in Ft. Meyers, FL. Selection is hit or miss at the Orlando outlet. I found the best selection at the Ft. Meyers' outlet - but then I've only been to the Ft. Meyer one once. There may be other outlets that carry some Disney items. I have also found nice Disney ties, believe it or not, at Wal-Mart, but I don't really shop there for Disney souvenirs. :rotfl2:

The outlets are also a great place to buy pins to trade in the parks (usually $3.00 each).

Plastic Finding Nemo tumblers (cups) I use them almost daily and they make me smile. I think it was something like $12 for 4...pretty good deal for Disney. I plan to get more with different characters when I go back. I found them at the kitchen store on Main St. in MK.

I haven't read this whole thread but...

one of my best "functional" souveniers is my sweatshirt....I wear it all the time.

::yes:: i found a great pack of tumblers at the kitchen/home store in DTD. they are huge, with little mickey heads on them, and it was about $8 for four! i use them all the time.

hhhmmm... disney clothing, for adults and kids, they sell so many great styles now, you don't just have to limit to plain t shirts,I don't like traditional t's, but I now have lot of cute little fitted shirts with Disney characters on them    DH has some really cool caps with subdued disney logo stuff on them and he loves watches....
cups and bowls are always fun( we love the free kids meal mickey bowls, our collection is growing, and they LAST!)
gotta have my coffee in a Disney mug o' the day...
And my new favorite, my itty bitty tinkerbell earrings -they're silver, and have my birthstone, and they're oh so cute!
I can't stand giant ear hats and big character gloves, b/c I know they'll just gather dust, but there's no shortage of usable souvenirs at WDW....sigh.... :cloud9:

We bought a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter
It brings a smile to our faces every time we make cookies! :teeth:

When I was there over Christmas time they had New Year Eve stuff that said 2006 or '06 all over it! That being my graduating year I stock up on many items such as T-shirts, Antenna toppers, and the most functional of all...

A '06 back pack to carry my books in around school :cool1:
I bought the last on in MGM said the clerk :teeth:

You may be too mature for this (I'm 47), but I LOVE buying the cheesy pens like the ones at the Living Seas with Nemo and Crush on top. I keep them in my kitchen and everytime I or my DD uses them, we get transported back to the parks!

over the years i have bought many different useful souveneirs from tee shirts to beach towels but the one that is most useful is my great mickey coffee travel cup but the one that is truely very useful is the backscratcher i bought this year at japan.
