I know they can't guarantee a request, but I'd like to get opinions for best preferred loop at FW.

We just got back. We were in the 200 loop and we really liked it. This was our first time at Fort Wilderness, so I don't have anything to compare it to. We were close to the comfort station and within walking distance to the marina/settlement store/Trails End.

Best for me may not be best for you, so this is not a question you will get one answer to. My family likes the 800 loop, near the exit of the loop, we like to be near the pool and campfire show, and for us it is not a bad walk to the marina and TE. Other people like the 100 and 200 loops because they are closest to the marina and TE. What is important to you? That will help determin what loop is best for you. There is a map of FW on the resort board, under a sticky for the smoking area, look at that it may help you decide what you need.

It's me, wife and little girl. In the past we've stayed in non preferred loops (900, 1700, & cabin 2200). Being close to the beach and dock would be nice? That really why we paid extra for the preferred. I just wanted to get some opinions and experiences from others.

If you don't have pets, loops 100 and 200 are the closest to the marina, 400 is also pretty close. If you have pets (we do) our favorite loops are 700 and 300. Of course, you don't have to have a pet to stay in a pet loop.

The only problem with loops 100-300 is that the sites can be pretty tight, making it difficult for the really big rigs to get into. We have a 37 ft. motorhome and have gotten into any site we've tried, but we've watched people (especially the long tt and 5th wheels) have problems.

Our tt is 27 ft. & no slides. Will that make a difference on which loop to request?

No, you can request any loop you like. I've seen some huge rigs parked in the tighter loops. When you make your reservations, they will ask you about your rv (length, slides, etc.) Fitting on the site SHOULDN'T be a problem.

The problems we have seen have been getting INTO the site. These problems are generally related to the curve of the loop, the angle you have to back in, etc. Some people can back in better than others and some sites are more easily accessible. It seems the people at reservations do not have access to (or understand the potential difficulties of) backing into a site.:confused3

At worst, if you find you absolutely cannot get into your site, my advice is to look around the loop for another empty site you can get into and call the front desk and request that one. Some friends of ours did this and were given the alternate site they requested.

Happy Camping!

Best loop? :scared1: That's like asking which child I love the most. :confused3

I know it's a tough question, I just wanted some input. Thanks for the help so far.

We asked the same question when planning our first trip. We were just there.. from 5/20 - 6/2. I thought we should be in the 1400 loop, up near the pool, campfire program, etc. DH thought closer to the marina.

Well, we ended up in the 200 loop, and I could not have been happier. It was a short walk to the boat. We really liked catching the boat to the Magic Kingdom. And, we really enjoyed being able to walk to the beach at night to watch the Electric Water Parade and the fireworks. We also enjoyed being close to the Hoop Dee Do Review and Trails End. We have a 32'7" Travel Trailer and had no trouble getting into our site.

One night we took the bus up to the campfire program. We did not wait more than 3-4 minutes for the bus to arrive for our trip there and the trip back.

We were so busy at the parks that we did not have time to go swimming, so being close to the pool was a non-issue this time. We also drove to every park except for the Magic Kingdom.

When we arrived, I was a bit sad. I told DH I wished we had been in the 1400 loop. However, after a day, I was very very happy being where we were.

I guess its all depends on your family and what you are wanting to do while there.

I think I would be happy anywere as long as its in Fort Wilderness :thumbsup2

I think you have it exactly right! We have never been disappointed in any loop we have stayed in. We've been in the 1600 loop and the 800 loop each a few times. Also in the 1800, 1300 and 300 loop. We've loved them all.

we are staying from this Wed. 6/13 for a week and we were wondering which loops for Cabins work. We have little ones. We heard about some cabins up in the 100 loop (just for VIPs) and then have heard things about other loops. We'd like to be close to most of the action at the Meadows pool area...but are open to suggestions/condition of cabin, etc. Any secrets to make this easier. Weve never been here and are doing it without a car. Thank you.

We just came back form staying in the 800 loop. Had a great spot.:cool1: Close to the pool, and movie. Took the bus to go to the marina.

We just got back from the 200 loop yesterday. We loved it. The sites do seem tight compared to some of the other loops. We were on the end site and my husband didn't have any problems getting our MH in. It is 40 ft with 4 slides.

Put it this way:

- if you want the closest to the marina and Pioneer Hall, ask for the lowest numbered loop possible.
- if you want something closer to the bus stops and the front entrance (which was my preference) ask for something in the upper 2000's.

I was in 2800 and it was directly next to the pool and only 1 bus stop away from the entrance and we LOVED it.

You'll have a blast, it is hands down my favorite resort because of it's "get away" feel.

I prefer to prefer the 100/200 loops........

But am most happy being next to the big rigs.......

If they are the :snooty: kind and outside I take my ductape out and rap it around by flex pipe just to see thier faces......

I have going to FWCG for the past 10 years. Been in several different loops. I have a 38 foot MH with 2 slides and a patty O room and have had no trouble getting into most of them. Just let them know when you check in what kind of rig toy have. If for some reason you have difficulity, call the front desk and they will change it for you. We are Annunal Passholders and go about 2 times a years. We have plans in going this Dec. for x-mas. Will be celebrating our 50th Wedding. Anyplace is fun at DISNEY.:yay: :yay: :yay:    :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
