Best footwear?...I can't do sneakers.

Do you wear socks with your Keens? I have been really debating dropping the shoes I normally wear for some Crocs but those Keens look comfy.

Nope, no socks with my Keens. I wear them when I want my feet to stay cool!

PS Think about sunscreen on the tops of your feet. I always forget and have had some interesting tan lines there!

I always wore whatever flip flops I wanted without issue. Well, now I'm getting older...and need to change things up.

Last time I went I brought my flip flops and got a "split" between my toes so I couldn't wear them the rest of the time. I was lucky enough to have slip on boots and it got cold so I wore them.

I want to invest in maybe Clarks or just a good sandal without the thong part.

PS...I also need wide width.

Thanks!
CLARKS, I always have at least 2 pairs, I know there are others, but these have always worked extremely well for me, be careful not to purchase any with a heel over 1 inch. Never wore sneakers but once and was not happy with those throughout the day.

Pro tip, though: Skechers go walks are completely machine washable. They are light as air and when mine get less than fresh, I throw them in the washer :thumbsup2 easy peasy and they come out good as new. They dry quickly, too, because they're made of memory foam!

Great to know. I have a pair that are a little dirty. I'll throw them in the next load of laundry.

Mine started to get dirty and a bit smelly, so I got desperate and googled it and found out they were machine washable, lol! Glad to pass on the info and I hope your shoes get squeaky clean :D

I also have wide feet. Not always easy to find wide width sandals but I do have a pair of Chaco's in wide width that work well. They are very heavy on your feet, keep that in mind. The textured bottoms can sometimes rub and create a burned feeling. I really like my Sketchers GoWalk's. I was able to find a wide width in my size at Kohl's for a good price. Very light on my feet and no issues with rubbing. No socks required and ok to get wet.

During our 2011 trip, I purchased 2 pairs of Mickey Mouse Crocs and used them in parks. They felt great and I am planning on switching between my New Balance walking shoes and my Crocs during our Feb 2017 trip.

I am a guy and for theme parks and other warm weather activities, I have yet to find anything as comfortable, versatile, durable or as convenient as the original Crocs clogs. The problem is they are still ugly as ever and I get ridiculed (especially by my kids) whenever I wear them. But until I find something as good that looks better, I am sticking with them. What else is out there now that does everything the original croc does but are more stylish?

Birkenstocks Birkenstocks Birkenstocks!!

Best shoes I've ever owned for Disney - no feet pain, no back pain, not leg pain. I've tried a lot of shoes. I normally wear orthotics in my runners because I have lower back issues. I asked my chiropractor what the best sandals would be for me, and he said Birkenstocks. I have bought two pairs, and never looked back. I love them. I can feel my feet go "ahhh" as soon as I slide my feet in... lol

Here's another recent thread on the same topic: http://www.disboards.com/threads/i-...rtive-flip-flops.3507112/page-5#post-55761002

As I said in that thread, I have tried various Crocs, Teva's, Merrell's and Clark's. While the Clark's are nice & cushy they do not provide GOOD SUPPORT. The best for support out of all of those was the Merrells. I pronate badly and without the proper support my knees KILL me after walking all day. I recently discovered an orthopedic specialist store which sells OluKai, Birkenstocks and Vionics. I found a couple of articles online in which podiatrists recommended the OluKai "Ohana" for proper support so that's what I am going to try on our next trip. I also bought a pair of their "Kulapa Kai" to try as well on sale from LL Bean. I have narrow feet and the Ohana strap was a little too wide for me so the owner of the shop altered them for me to fit tighter. Now if only this crazy cold rainy spring weather would straighten up so I could try to break them in!! (I will probably still pack 1 pair of Crocs and 1 pair of the Merrell's as backups for short periods of time along with a pair of Nike sneakers which I know I get along well with.)

I live in Toms while in the parks! I was shocked at how well they held up in the rain. I did have to dry them out by the air conditioner at night - but I had a few pairs to alternate. Cute and comfy!

One of my biggest issues with Disney is my feet. My wife is a commando style gal and wants to be there at rope drop and she wants to stay until the run us out.. My heart is willing but my feet never are... a few trips back I was on here looking at what type of shoes others wore for comfort. I had crocs that I liked but didn't enjoy the bulkiness of them. Someone suggested Go Walk from Sketchers.. I checked online bought a pair and wow did I love those shoes. Of course my feet still hurt but the shoes were wonderful. So much so that I flat wore them out in a span of just a few years... I recently bought a new pair of crocs that were in the same style as my go walks and although I like them, they just can't compare to the Go Walks..

As long as you stick with any of the quality brands that offer arch support, you should be fine. I can only wear good shoes, nothing cheap anymore, unfortunately. But it makes a HUGE difference with the arch support. I wear Abeo flip flops (will run you about $100) and I can order a size down because the construction is so good. Also, Vionic/Orthaheel, and Aetrex. The only shoes I buy.

I no longer have any pain anywhere in my feet.

Do you wear socks with your Keens? I have been really debating dropping the shoes I normally wear for some Crocs but those Keens look comfy.

I do wear socks with my Whisper Keens. Yeah, it looks totally dorky, but it works best for me when I am wearing then all day. The socks provide a little cushion between my bare feet and the straps. For a couple hours, I'd go without socks.

I wear Crocs flip flops now but have worn Mickey crocs as well. They're ugly as anything but they feel so good on my feet that I don't care.
