Best flip-flops for walking around parks??

My two favorites are Teva Mush and Yellow Box. Teva's are great, but I prefer my Yellow Box just a bit more. They seem to stay "mushier" than the Teva's, even after a lot of wear. Teva's will eventually mold to your feet, and thin out a bit, losing some of the cushion. I've been wearing my Yellow Box for over a year, and they still feel as comfy and springy as when I first bought them.

Anyone have opinions about Teva Olowahu? They are the flip flops with a few more straps across the top. I'm hoping they are good since I just ordered a pair!

i wear the sketcher tone ups.... they're the same as fit-flops... but a couple dollars cheaper, and easier to find for me. i couldn't live without them with my heel problems. you do need to break them in before you go!! once or twice to the grocery store should be good :)

I love my crocs sandals. they are the Cleo ones. have worn them for years in the parks soo comfy and dry out quickly in the rain. My three boys also wear different types of croc sandals in disney. (not the classic crocs). hope tis helps.

Oh my goodness! Thanks for all the great replies! :worship: I've never heard of any of the brands mentioned except for crocs! I'll be doing some internet shopping tonight!!!

My kids wear Crocs (the classic style, not flip flops) all summer and at Disney.

I have a pair of Airwalk flip flops that are similar to Crocs that I wore our first Disney trip and they are very comfortable, so I ordered the Mickey Croc flip flops for our second trip. I tried to break them in but I couldn't even walk the dog or go to the store without getting blisters between my toes and the top rubbed too. If I would have just brought those for our trip I would have been miserable. I gave them to DD and she wears them with no issues.

I tried them out when I bought my first Teva Mush. I was a bit worried the smaller straps would rub too much on the top of my foot (I have a pair of Reefs with thin straps and I can only wear them occasionally). However, I saw a thread a while ago where several posters said the Olowahu were the most comfortable for them. Hopefully that will be your experience too.

We're going back to WDW the 1st week of September and I know it'll be really hot. I usually wear sneakers when we go to the parks, but I was wondering what are the best flip-flops for all that walking? I don't even care how much they cost if they're comfortable for doing that much walking. Any suggestions? I

I have very bad feet, and you can't beat a comfortable well fitting pair of sneakers for WDW. I wouldn't change if I were you. Crocs and some flip flops are great for standing for hours as you always do in the World, but for walking long distances and standing as well, tennis shoes have always worked the best for my feet.

My favorite is the Adidas w/fit foam. I never put anything else on while there :thumbsup2. I always bring atleast 1 spare, you never know when you will need an extra. We are getting an owners locker when we go in September and I intend to put a few pairs in there too ;). I have never tried any of the above mentioned.

I bought these to wear on my trip in September. Haven't worn them yet. Did you find you needed to break these in or are they good to wear from the first time? My feet are kind of wide and sometimes new shoes hurt my feet until they're completely broken in. I normally wear the rubber Old Navy or Havaianas but my feet/calves hurt when I do a lot of walking in them. Do you find the Adidas ones are good to wear in the rain too? The rubber/foam (?) ones like Old Navy ones always make me slip and slide in the rain!

I agree about my Yellow Box flops. I usually wear the same pair over and over again, and when they lose too much "mush" I toss them in the washer. It doesn't restore them to brand new, but it tends to "plump" them back up a bit.

I've been wearing a pair for 3 years now as my every-day junky pair...they have finally been demoted to "yard work" shoes for this summer.

You guys convinced me - I just ordered a pair of Yellow Box!

Huh! I never thought to do that! It probably wouldn't be a good idea for me to wash my Yellow Box ones, because they all have "bling", but I wonder how well that would work with my Tevas? Maybe I'll try it today! Thanks!

I am a flip flop freak and that's pretty much all I wear as soon as temps reach over 60! I love Teva Mush and have about 5 pairs. They are super comfy but have no support for long walking days. I just bought a pair of Reefs and think that they're not as "mushy" and sturdier, although not as comfy. For long term walking though, my best pair is my Fit Flops for support.

Honestly, I only wear sneakers for walking in WDW. Flip flops don't give me the support for walking several miles a day. My feet/legs/knees hurt after wearing sneakers for @10 hours; I couldn't imagine how they would feel after wearing flip flops.:scared1:

TEVA :cheer2::cheer2: I love mine! It's all I wear. I have them on right now. I've done full weeks at Disney in these shoes with no problems at all.

I LOVE Olowahu! I prefer them over the mush! They are the only flip-flop that works for me. I have high arches and heel issues.

I have several pairs of these and wear them all the time; however, I will not wear them to WDW in June because I need a little more support. Plus, my foot slips around a little.

I just ordered Teva Mush. We will see!

I am definitely flip flop junky. :rolleyes1 Have tried Reef, Teva, Havainas, Fit-Flop, etc. They are all nice for just everyday use. However, Disney requires +10 miles everyday and when I go, it's still high 80s and low 90s so I don't dare wear my sneakers. I've tried them all at Disney and the winner is Fit-Flop. They have much more cushion and arch support like sneakers than all other flip flops. They also don't flip flop much wearing them so they feel very secure on. :rotfl: I bought another pair of Fit Flop just yesterday so I could break them in and wear them to upcoming trip. :cloud9:

I just bought a pair of Orthaheels and they are amazing. Very supportive, very comfortable (they take a little getting used to, so follow the manufacturers advice about only wearing them for a few hours at first). I used to wear Reefs, which I love, but I needed something more supportive to wear full-time.

I would probably still bring a pair of Reefs to wear for shorter outings, but my Orthaheels are my new park flip-flops.

I'm a flip flop diva that pretty much lives in flop flops year around (except at work:rotfl:). Up until a couple of years ago, I would have recommended Teva Mush. I have over 20 pairs of them and they were always my favorite park shoe, along with the Nike Celso and Reefs. However, a couple of years ago I developed plantar fasciitis in my left heel and can no longer wear my beloved Teva Mush, Nikes, or Reefs for long periods. Going to WDW several times year and being a flip flop lover I have spent a fortune over the last couple of years looking for the perfect WDW shoe. In order of comfort, my favorites are: Olu'Kai Ohanas, Sketcher Tone Ups, Orthoheel Tides or Orthoheel Waves, Fit Flops, and Montrail Molokinis.

I haven't read all the reply's but to tell you the truth...When I was in my 20's,30's and early 40's I could wear whatever flip flop I wanted because that is what I walked in every day. Style was very important then!:cutie:I think if you are used to wearing them you will be OK. In my late 40's my feet would be really tired after walking in flip flops for a few hours and then I found my sketchers, which I now swear by!! I haven't worn flip flops in WDW for a few years and while I don't look as good as I did back then  My feet are happy!

These aren't comfortable for me, but I think it's because the top of my feet are kind of wide. I keep trying them on, but they always feel too small!

I do have a pair of Olowahu wedges that are okay for casual wear but not lots of walking.
