Hi there!

I'm new to this forum; nice to be here!

I've been to Disney World many times but this will be our first time with kids - aged 3.5 yrs and 9 months at time of travel. We're going to the magic Kingdom on the Saturday that we disembark the Disney fantasy late in January.

Because the kids are young and I'm anticipating a busy day, I don't want to stake out a spot for hours from which to view the fireworks.

If we're staying at a different resort, could we still go to the beach at the Polynesian and view from there?

Thanks so much - any tips would be great!

we did this while staying at POR. yes you can! get a dessert and watch the electrical water pageant at the poly and then wishes ON THE BEACH!

We've watched them from the Poly, but the best and ideal place is center front of castle. Have seen them from several different places, but 'nothing' can compare to there. Crowded, yes, but worth it to us. We 'never' stake out a place early - it's standing room only anyway, and because you're looking up, nothing seems to really get in the way (except an occasional inconsiderate person putting their child on their shoulders at the last minute! :headache:

They look great from Dumbo in the "up" position :thumbsup2

Our favorite vantage point is from the Fantasyland side of the castle. I know it's not Main Street, but you're still seeing them over the castle, and it's much less crowded back on that side. We usually post up around the carousel/Pinocchio's restaurant about 10-15 minutes beforehand.

Thanks again, everyone!

I've reserved dinner at Kona for 6:45 and figured that would be good timing for us to stay for wishes and the electrical parade afterwards.

Am I correct in understanding that we can't take a disney bus from Poly to AoA after the fireworks? We need to head back to the magic kingdom and them take a bus from there? will this be madness??

You are correct, the buses do not go between resorts, just between resorts and parks so you will need to head back to MK to get back AoA.
Will this be madness? Well, we went at a 'slow' time of year, like you (early Feb), and when we left Wishes we waited almost an hour to get onto a bus, it was over an hour before we were back at our resort. Be prepared for a wait, but it isn't really 'madness'. Our issue was one of our daughter's decided to tell us when we were at the bus stop that she needed to go potty. We were next in line for a PACKED full bus and two younger ladies jumped in front of us, I ended up sending my husband and daughter who had to go to the bathroom on that bus and waiting there with my then 7 year old for almost another half hour (I was shocked they didn't seem to have more buses running at park close). So, be sure to check if anyone needs a potty break before you leave the Poly and prepared to speak up if the need arises. I was caught off guard that two ladies in their 20s felt they needed to get back to the resort faster than young kids :-/

Thanks, MandiC! Really good thought about the potty situation. Perhaps we'll make our way to the buses just before the end of the show...and hit the washrooms on the way!

Unfortunately people can be inconsiderate in these situations :/ My last fireworks experience at Disney was Epcot on new years eve and it was definite madness! not interested in doing that with kiddos.

thanks again!
