Theleb K'aarna from the Elric of Melnibone series is really cool, but actually Elric himself is technically an evil wizard so I'd have to go with Elric as being the best evil wizard ever! If you haven't read the books, I strongly recommend them, but they might be somewhat hard to find. Also, a bit of a warning, there are some very adult themes in these books, and as they say on TV, may not be suitable for children!
