Looking for some advice please!

We are flying Virgin this time (for only the 2nd time in 13 trips) and are planning to reserve our seats at the 60-day point.

The question is - 'which are the best seats in economy to reserve?'

I believe that the bubble has some economy seats. Are they worth going for? There will only be the two of us - DH and I.

We flew economy with Virgin this past Christmas and booked seats in the bubble. For us, it was ideal as there was me, DH and DD4. The seats in the bubble are 3-3 configuration. We had a really peaceful flight both ways and were first off the plane, even before PE in the bubble which made a big difference at immigration.
I have heard other people prefer the 2 seaters that are available downstairs if flying as just a two.
The bubble was very calm though and we didn't feel like we were on the full to capacity flight we were so well worth considering. I was on at 60 days mark to the minute though to secure our seats though and they went quickly! Have wonderful holiday, whatever you decide!

I flew in the bubble going out and coming back at the end of 2013 and loved it. It was definitely a bit calmer than flying in the main cabin owing to the smaller amount of people up there, but I guess that can be flight dependent, how many children there might be on the flight etc, and if there's any in the bubble or not.

And like the poster above said, the seats are rows of 3. So if there is a full flight, you may end up with a random. I flew with two friends, so for us it was perfect.

Also, you get off before the bulk of Economy downstairs so that is definitely a selling point for me.

We like the two seat configuration at the back of the plane. You have a big gap between the seat and the window which gives you plenty of room, its a good option if you can't get the bubble:thumbsup2

Yes this. Personally I think the bubble is too cramped now that economy is up there with PE. I would always go for the 2 config at the back of the plane. The only down side to this is you will be last off the plane and therefore last in the arrivals hall! :)

We have only flown once in the bubble ( 10 Virgin flights) and it was coming home last trip so we slept most of the way. Plus for us is quietness. number of cabin crew and speed of exit. Negatives were lack of storage (large carry on bags won't fit and have to be stocked in a locker by the cabin crew), lack of toilets (two behind the PE curtains and shared by the cabin crew) and nowhere to wander. On the flight going out it is nice to be able to stretch your legs and there is no room to do that upstairs.

For us too we prefer the four in a row downstairs but obviously that isn't an issue for you.
