I Was wondering if someone could help me
We are getting ready to plan a trip to the world and would like to know what you would consider the best pool area for my two children. They will be 3 and 4 years old. Ive stayed at bcv and enjoyed SAB but not sure if it is conducive to young children. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We stayed at BCV the last two years, with two children. Last year one was turning 5, the other was around 2.5. They LOVED the kid pool area at BC. SAB is not for little kids, but the sand bottom, zero entry kid pool was perfect. They loved the sandbar, playing and building castles with other kids, and the deepest the water gets is about 2.5 feet, so it's very safe.

Obviously you've been there, so I'm not telling you anything you don't know, but just from our perspective--they have an entire area that is very kid friendly.

Thanks for the response. We stayed at bcv 5 years ago (honeymoon....before kids) so I wasn't aware of a kiddie pool. We visited the resort last year and was told they didn't have a childrens playground but it was too cold to even think about swimming
Thanks again

I think SAB is great for kids that age. My youngest at 4 spent his days there playing in the sand and the zero entry area. Now at 5 he is just learning to swim so sticks with us in the water and loves to play all the kids games they organize. My older DS is just about 9 and this is where it gets harder at SAB. He wants to go on the big slide and be more active and it is much harder to watch him.

SAB has a tiny little climbing slide thing and little splash area for the little kids.

We have only also been to Kidani and the activities were of a shorter duration in the day and from what I saw more geared for older kids. The water play area is cool and might be a big hit with your little ones. My 5 yr old went through once and never wanted to go back.

I think the pool at BLT would be good for your young children. There is a zero entry, so easy for the kids to get in and out. A little slide for the older child to use. And a nice water play area for the kids. There's a beach off of the lake but it's separated by a fence from the pool. And you are within walking distance to the MK. A real plus after watching the fireworks at MK, because you don't have to wait for a bus like everyone else, you just walk back to BLT and you're there in 10 minutes.

Here's a photo of one of the rings in the water play area. I believe there are three or four.

AKV Kidani has wonderful spray features, climbing features, a small slide, 0 entry and the pool is adjacent to a savannah with a CM to talk to the kids about the animals they are seeing.

When we stayed at BLT our son loved going to the Contemporary pool also. Some great water features for children. We liked having access to both pools.

We have done both SAB and Kidani. Both are really good for young kids.

When at SAB the kids were 6.5 and 4.5 - sand was really nice and the 6.5 LOVED the long slide - but we had to split up to watch & play with the kids due to the distance & large number of people in the area. So it was hard to enjoy "as a family".

When at Kidani last year, kids were 9, 7, & 1.5. The older girls really enjoyed the whole pool area & even hanging out with the baby in the younger kids areas. And it just did not seem as crowded as SAB.

We are going back this fall and I asked the girls their preference - both agreed Kidani will be a good all around choice and that DS who will be just over 3 at that time will really enjoy the water play area, zero entry, and seeing the animals too.

For all the features PP mentioned.

My twins (6 at the time) ADORED the water play area. I thought that it would be too basic after all the water guns and such at FW, but they LOVED it. We went in July, so we could swim in the evenings. There were a couple of nights they they just played in that area and didn't even swim.

Slightly off topic, but we enjoyed the playground at Fort Wilderness. It is in a shady area (always helpful midsummer :thumbsup2) and just a boat ride away from BLT. I think that there is a playground at the Contemporary, but if IRC, it is in the sun.

If you happen to be staying at SSR, the Grandstand splash area is great fun for preschoolers. I'm looking forward to taking DD2and DS1 there this summer.

AKV, SSR and BLT all have a perfect splash areas. I think for the age splash feature and the walk in is the best feature, esp if there is only 1 parent for even a minute SAB is everywhere. Any of these 3 are fantastic. SSR also has a walking dist one at DTD that is IMO better than any of the other splash areas for parents to sit and watch, and relax a bit more.
The best pool if there are = parents to kids (or especially more parents to kids) I think is SAB, but you have much less relaxing as the pool is huge and layed out everywhere. With 2 kids not swimming yet, this will be a lot busier and more work than sitting at Kidani watching them go down the kiddie slide and sit in a sprinkler, or watching them dump water on the Donald Duck splash area while sitting in a chair.

I do not think you will be disappointed in AKV, SSR, BLT, or BC.

GL deciding.

Does anyone have any pictures of the Kadani pool that they could share? I have kids ranging in ages from 5 to 13 and have wondered if the 13 year old would be bored at this pool. We have never stayed at AKV (we love SAB), but have considered trying it in the future.
