Actually I change my answer. Ihe package I have for August is the best deal I have ever booked. But it's not a Disney discount it's an exclusive deal through a travel agency. I have a 10 night package at the YC for the price of a 5 night package.
Think it had to be the 40% of Any Resort, which I *think* was 2009. Won't swear to that, but I know the 40% part was right. Book 4 get 3 free rings a bell, but based on the discussion here that seems to have been a 2004 discount and we didn't do Disney again after our first visit in 2001 until 2008.
In fact, I'm not sure the 40% off didn't also include a $200 Disney Gift Card. It was in that post-apocalyptic-economic-meltdown phase when essentially nobody was going anywhere and parks were basically begging people to take vacations...
In 2003, Disney offered military members FREE 5 day hopper+water park tickets and the opportunity to buy up to 10 friends and family the same tickets for $99.
In Dec 2009, I got room at AS Movies for $42 a night.
Probably 2004, the first time we took our boys, when we paid for 4 nights room & tix (prior to MYW, wasn't so cheap to add additional days), and got 3 nights room & tix free.
That 'FairyTale pkg' was incredible!! We booked at POR to begin with...at rack rate. Then, they came out with the FT pkg, so we changed to WL...paid for 4, got 3 nights free. But, for just a little bit more, we found we could stay at the Polynesian. So, all in all? I think that the Polynesian, for 7 nights, with that pkg, was actually cheaper than our stay at POR would have been!!!

Our first trip was in 2007. We had the original free dining where tips, appetizers, desserts, etc were included. Upon arrival at AS Music, we were upgraded to a Family Suite. Family of 4, 7 nights with park hoppers, around $1600. Those were the days.
The best was when we booked a room at the CR with an AP discount during spring break and got upgraded to a suite! We still talk about that. What a great time! I think it was around 2006.
We have had some great rates with AP discounts over the years. Especially around 2002-2005. We stayed at Poly and CR concierge several times during those years. The lowest rate was under $250 but I would have to check on the exact cost.
We took advantage of the buy 4 get 3 deal too. It was cheaper at that time than the AP rates so we took it. But I really don't like to book packages. And the dining plans aren't a deal for us so I don't consider them worth getting.
Our best deal was 40% off Theme Park View at the Polynesian in December 2011. I think it ended up being $333/night. I recently checked rack rates for this room and time for this year and it's something outrageous like $800/night
We now think of that as our once in a lifetime trip! I'll never forget waking up in the middle of the night and seeing Cinderella Castle!
Free Regular Dining plan at value resort for 8 nights when appetizer and gratuity were still included - planned on Allstart Movies and got FREE UPGRADE to Old Key West in a 1 bedroom suite.
Paid about $95 per night for family of 4 to stay at DELUXE accomodations with all our food for FREE!
Oh and I was traveling with 2 other families and managed to get them upgraded too!
I know it will never happen again, but it was like winning the lottery that one time!
For several years (and this was a while ago) we were able to get the Poly conceirge at 50% off, which meant $125 per night. As you can tell, it was a while ago, as now you can't even get a regular room for the old full price of concierge.
Those were the good old days when buying an annual pass really got you a 50% discount on rooms - all rooms. Not the measly discounts they're giving now.
I thought of another. About 3 or 4 years ago Disney offered the Platinum package for 25% off. That meant the admissions too. So you could book the package at the discount for how ever many days you wanted and also buy a longer use MYW ticket that was no expire for the same 25% off.
Though the package was expensive, we bought it anyway and really, really had a good time!
