Have never been to this particular park...any opinions on the best place to have dinner? Probably prefer a good sit down.

Thanks-

We had a really great experience at the PT 50's cafe for dinner. The pot roast is amazing and the desserts were good as well.

Hands down...Hollywood Brown Derby. The food was wonderful! You can never go wrong with the Cobb Salad and the last time I was there I had the spiced grouper that was amazing.
But if you're looking for something more low key, Mama Melrose is a good choice for Italian food.

I would think it might depend on what you are looking for. When deciding between The Brown Derby and 50's Prime Time Diner we had to consider the following: Will you have kids with you? Do you want a more adult atmosphere or do you like that mom's kitchen from the past feel? Completely different menus. I think it boils down to your personal wants.

We had the most incredible dinner last Monday at The Brown Derby. Our party was 5 adults and a 9-year-old (who later journaled that our dinner there was the best meal of our trip). The food and service were amazing. I had grouper that was out of this world and we shared Cobb Salads and 3 different, wonderful desserts. It doesn't have a 'fun' theme, though, if that's what you're looking for. We still enjoyed it very much.

I haven't tried the Brown Derby, and I imagine that would be the choice for a more upscale (2 TS credits on the dining plan) meal.

If, however, you do decide you'd like something more casual, then you can't go wrong with 50s PTC. The 6 of us on our last trip all really enjoyed our meal there -- I tasted the pot roast and the chicken pot pie and they were divine. But my uncle and I who both ordered the fried chicken were going back and forth the whole time, "Can you believe how good this is?" "Mmm, no, I think it might be as good as Gramma's" "OMG, this fried chicken is SOOO good!" "I'm so full, but I can't stop eating this fried chicken!" Never mind the AWESOME milkshakes and desserts!

Hey Lynn!!!

As far as DHS restaurants..i've only been to Prime Time Cafe---migh thave to try Brown Derby. Don't they have the grapefruit cake dessert?

My favorite restaurant at DHS is definitely '50s Prime Time. I like the fun '50s atmosphere, but more importantly the food is actually good (that's hard to find at DHS :lmao: ). I love the meat loaf and althogh there's not much to it, the s'mores were a fun dessert.

I know this will not be a poplar:scared1: choice but Hollywood and vine!.Its a buffet styl food, but we thought It was pretty good, and pretty treditional typ set up but we enjoy It and It was pretty fun to eat there just a thought:thumbsup2

We had a great experience at the PT 50's cafe. Me and my girl friend went there for the dinner, its really amazing.

We find this park has the worst food out of all parks. H & V is gross, as is Sci Fi, and Brown Derby is in our opinion, one of the most overrated restaurants on property (will never eat there again as we experienced horrible service and subpar food all around).

We usually eat at Mama Melrose and sometimes 50s Primetime. But to be honest, we don't eat here much. We actually leave the park, and take the boat to Epcot/Boardwalk if we can't get ressies at Mama Melrose's.

Good luck, Tiger

I like H & V. They have a lot of selection. We will be eating at Sci Fi next weeks so I'll let you know!

Hi Bill!!! :flower3: They do have a grapefruit cake dessert. I have never had it, but I know people who rave about it on here.

I have been to 50s PTC too. It's really good.

What a difficult question to answer. There are many factors you need to consider. Do you have kids? Do you want an adult atmosphere or something more interactive and fun. What is your budget? Do you want all you can eat? Are you looking for characters?

We go WDW every year and, in my opinion, Brown Derby has the best food at DHS, but they are also by far the most expensive, and have a more upscale adult atmosphere. PT 50's, Sci-Fi and Mama Melrose all cost about the same. Hollywood and Vine offers the best value for your buck (considering vareity and it's all you can eat). They also have characters which can be a lot of fun.

PT 50's has very good food and a very fun environment (make sure you wash your hands and note the type and color of soap). The pot roast, chicken pot pie and chicken are all EXCELLENT.

Sci-Fi is cool because you get to eat in a drive-in type of atmosphere and see clips of B rated movies. Some are so dumb you have to laugh. Their ribs are very good as are burgers and shakes.

Mama Melrose has some decent Italian dishes, and is similar to Brown Derby in that it's more of an adult atmosphere.

Our personal favorite is PT 50's, but it really depends on what you want considering the factors I mentioned earlier. Bottom line....something may be better than something else, but you aren't going to go wrong no matter what you choose.

Hope this help you somewhat.
