Best Digital Camera+HOw MUch Do Prints Cost At WDW?

Im trying to find the best digital camera with the best picture qaulity and some good additions to it. Like picture frames. What is your choice? Can you please post a pic that u took with that camera. By the way how much do picture prints cost at WDW?

What is the best camera depends on a lot of things. How important are price, size/weight, image quality, speed, ease of use, flexibility, zoom range, etc?

In my opinion (as a Canon biased person), the overall best handheld digital camera on the market is the Canon 1DsM2. The only area where it is weak is in speed (fps, buffer size, buffer write speed). If you are shooting lots and lots of shots in a hurry or you want to save a little money, the Canon 1DM2n is also a great camera. You can pick up the 1DsM2 for just under $7,000 and the 1DM2n for only $3,600. Of course, at those prices, you don't get any lenses or memory cards.

I think Nikon also makes some similarly capable cameras, but I'm not very familiar with them.

These are where you'll get your best image quality without moving up to a camera designed more for shooting stricly on a tripod. If you don't want to spend that much or lug around a large, heavy, complicated camera with lots of lenses, you can also get some really nice DSLR and P&S cameras.

As Mark said, it is impossible to recommend a specific camera without more information about your priorities. The cameras Mark mentioned are obviously at the high end of the price/quality spectrum, but you did ask for the "best." I suspect, however, that if that were what you were after, you'd already know it.

You might start your search here: Digital camera product advisor. You answer a questionnaire about what you're looking for--budget, number of megapixels, zoom capabilities (little tip--look for optical, not digital, zoom), camera size, etc.--and it will recommend several models that fit your criteria.

You might also try doing a little reading at a site like http://www.imaging-resource.com/ or http://dpreview.com/. Or if you want to list some more specifics--price range, size priorities, etc.--there are plenty of people here who will be able to recommend specific cameras to you. Or if you're really in the market for a 1DsM2, perhaps you have some cast off equipment you'd like to pass my way.

if you have or will have a laptop /internet access you could download your pics and have them waiting for you when you get home...never priced them but i doubt photos are a bargain price at wdw.

Combine that with the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 ED-IF AF-S VR for $1700 and you've got yourself one heck of a setup. For wider shots the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX (only about $1200) is awesome and optically you really can't do any better. For your macro shots the 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR is stellar and a bargain at about $900. If you want to take pics with a flash you'll have to pick yourself up Speedlight flash like the SB-800 for about $329.

However, like the others have said budget is a pretty important factor when asking about what camera to get or what is the best.

To the OP, if what you're after is an entry level point & shoot camera, you can get a 3-5 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom that will take decent snapshots for less than $150. If you've got more to spend, you can get more bells & whistles.

As far as megapixels, stay with 5MP, 6MP tops.

I was talking to someone in the store the other day who was looking for a camera. He made a mistake by asking me a question. The mistake was wasting our time. He had already made up his mind and just wanted me to validate his decission that 10 MP was better than 6 mp. His response to my answer was you don't know what you are talking about. All I said was "your money, your camera" and excused myself.

Go to www.dpreview.com and take a look at the gallery. There are pictures there from all different cameras. Then look at the reviews.

Then decide what you are going to use a camera for.

Then go to a camera store and handle the ones you think you want.

Let you in on a little secret. I have an old Canon G1 3.2mp and I will stack that up to a lot of the newer ones in picture quality.

I have to agree with fitzperry. If someone is wondering how much a print costs at WDW, then that person is not in the market for a high end DSLR. I believe that the response posts were for the humor of the board regulars. I admit that I find it funny that the original post is so open ended.

If the OP is looking for bang for the buck in a p&s (point and shoot), then I have to say that the Canon S3 IS is one of the best. There are many others that could be a better fit though. If the OP can give us some of her priorities, then we can give better advice.

I think that the OP is looking for the "best" camera that also has the ability to add pictures frames in-camera (at least that's the way I read it) probably indicates that they're not looking for a DSLR.

And I don't mean that in an insulting way - but I would guess that the more likely a camera is to support in-camera picture frames, the less likely it is to produce pictures worth framing!

OP, you need to give us a little more info, like what features you're looking for (speed, zoom, physical size, cost) and then we can try to help you out.

well if op hasn't run away and hid yet....

i really like the canon line of p&s...the powershot a600 might still be available and is reasonable (mid 200) and the already mentioned s2/s3 IS...depends on what you want, the size, the zoom etc . not sure if they have frames in camera but they do have the ability to change colors, ie all b&w, one thing color, some neat things like that...and you can pick up an editing program that can add frames anyway ( ie i know photoshop elements do)

however having said that....while lightening might come down and strike me...i was just printing out some of my daughter's old pictures from her kodak 4 mp easy share and the 4x6...once i corrected the color and sharpness and noise... the ones she took outside in normal lighting conditions are really pretty good ( even a few of the indoor i was able to use levels and get them fine).....the 8x10's are iffy but some are good, some not depending on the crop....so if a little kodak 4mp can do that, why spend big money on a ton of mp you'll probably never really need to use unless you are in the poster making business ( ie like someone said above 5/ 6mp or so)

i'd spend more on optical zoom if it were me and get 5 or 6 mp ( ie the12x S/IS canons) there is a canon a700(?) with 6 x zoom but it's like $300+ and so why bother when you can get the other for around the same

don't know how much you can tell but the 8x10 clearly shows people on the bank etc

when i posted the question i really ment what do u think is the best camera that you like very much. what do u guys think of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7? BTW is there a way that I can take pics then save them to a laptop and from ther I upload them to a website(for example kodak.com?) that can be printed at a CVS near my house so when I come back they are there waiting for me? If not I hope they come up of a way!

there are many online sites ( shutterfly, snapfish, walmart I would guess cvs etc etc) that let you download pictures from computer...(i dont' have a laptop so they may have some other way also but i know to load them to a regular desktop computer you can either load them via the usb cord that comes with your camera( except that uses your camera battery) or put the memory card in a memory card reader ( pick one up for cheap on lots of electonic sites..under $20)connected to your computer and do it that way...)then download to the site of your choice and order prints and they'll mail them to you or you can pick them up....kodak has one also... i think it used to be called ofoto or something similar.

before i got my rebel xt i was initially deciding between the s2 IS canon and the panasonic....i went to the store and held them and really disliked the panasonic...it was a nice camera but more rectangular and really felt clunky in my hands...i would say i have a normal sized woman's handsand if felt to rectangular to be comfortably for me...if you can i would go hold a couple different models and see how they feel to you. here is one conclusion of a review for that one if you haven't read it http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_reviews/fz7_pg5.html

I have the DMCFZ5 and considering buying a new Panasonic this year. While i do not know a lot about cameras , i am more than happy with the camera and the photos i get with it, the optical zoom is excellent especially with OIS which helps when using it at full zoom

I had an FZ5 and just sold it. I liked the camera's zoom and OIS, but the lack of ISO (the camera tops out at 400) made it not work well for the sports I shoot a great deal of the time. The digital noise at low ISO's is also a concern. If you are considering a bridge camera, I would look at the Canon S2/3IS before the Panasonic. I now have a Canon Rebel and I am very happy with it.
